Generator priming

Similar routine here. I attribute the long priming time to the distance gasoline must travel from the gas tank to generator carb. I think over time the gasoline slowly drains out of the fuel line back into the tank, and you have to pump it back up to the generator.

I concede this may very well be true, because my fuel tank is very close to the genny. At least my use case supports your theorem.

It would be very tough for me to buy another RV, I would not be worth the trouble for a Dealer, because I will want all of the things I have now as par for the course. But who knows, my next coach may not even have or need a genny? Solar may built in on the outside rear and side walls and maybe small enough to mount on AC cover panels (not the roof).

NO GENERATOR???

SOLAR???

 Have I passed through a membrane into another dimension?? :stunned: :rofl2:

I don't think you should make light of me because I have no solar and rely exclusively on generator. :whistling: It may be why WBGO designed my coach so I would not need to prime?

Below is a picture of what my roof would look like today if I had to buy a brand new RV. It would be the 2025 model of the exact same Sunstar I own today (NPF Edition). It has 3 Solar Panels at 115 watts each and a 320ah Lithium Ion battery.

I don't want you nor the entire TMC Forum World to suffer any longer with me NOT having Solar Panels. If you guys order the panels and a Victron MPPT Solar Charger; I will have it installed on my roof in the configuration as shown. I will trust the manus bond to prevent any leaks. :coolsmiley:

I KNOW your parents warned you about caving to peer pressure. This is NOT the time! Be strong grasshopper and follow your own path!! You and I BOTH succumbed to pressure from the dark side and installed lithium batteries. Where will this madness lead? ;)

Generator prime takes time

I find that I have to hold town the prime for at least 30 to 60 seconds in order to have an efficient start, regardless of the weather conditions. We also found out that for our 2021 Thor Daybreak, the fuel tank must be more than 1/4 full otherwise it doesn't provide fuel to the generator!
