So we got our RV back from the dealer after they performed the Warranty maintenance and now my generator won’t start. I had been doing the water line flush and decided to start up the generator just to check to see if it was in order. It started and ran for a minute or two and then stopped. It tried a few times to restart but couldn’t. After some investigation I found that the switch to change between gas and LP gas had been flipped to gas. So I switched it back to LP but still no dice. Also the overload light comes on though no appliances are on. Any thoughts other than my dealer messed it up?

Sounds like it ran out of fuel.
You have a lot of troubleshooting available for you to do.
Is the propane valve open?
Have you changed back to gasoline and primed the generator?
Have you tried some brake clean or starting fluid to see if it has spark?

And then you can break out the tools and start in depth troubleshooting.

When on gas do you have more than 1/4 tank of gas, is oil level in generator correct and stab in the dark press reset button before trying to start

My generator stopped starting. Same as a prior person. Came back from a service call and the generator won't start and shows the same Overload light. Won't reset and cancel the light. Tried draining the gas to see if it was flooded, a bunch drained out, still won't start. Sounds like it's not firing. Need to verify if the unit has a plug. the unit is under warranty unit August, doesn't help with the heat of summer if we can't have the HVAC on during travel. HELP!

Annnnnd what Year/Make/Model RV do you have and/or which generator? Our crystal balls are not that clear.

Need to verify if the unit has a plug.

Which "unit" and what kind of "plug"?

The service for the RV plug in is 30 Amp, twist four prong plug.
OK, not sure why that matters with a generator issue.

From your Owners Manual:
2. The Overload LED will turn red indicating an over current condition as well as general overload conditions. This light will illuminate briefly when the generator is starting. If there is an over current condition the generator will disconnect the electrical output but the engine will continue to operate. See Loading the generator and Resetting Overload. - Press the red RESET button on the generator control panel until the OVERLOAD alarm light goes off and the OUTPUT READY light is on.
3. The Output Ready LED will turn green indicating that the generator is ready to be used. The light may flash while the generator is starting and will stay on continuously while running.

So failing that, you do have a 3 year warranty on the generator from RVMP. There are two service centers near you.

Thanks, a technician got it started after doing a reset on the inverter. It ran for 2 hours, then I shut it down. Later in the day, I tried to start it again, same thing, wouldn't start. I want an Onan, never had problems like this in past motorhomes. Tried calling and texting RVMP, no response, even when they were supposed to be open..

The tech found the that the positive electrical connection was loose. He felt that the loose connection was sending the Over Current Condition was a result of the loose connection. Anyway, we still have nothing starting.
