So my generator won’t stay on! I have a 2023 Thor Windsport 29m. Turned on generator and ran for about 10 minutes and cut off. Both a/c units were off. Waited about 20 minutes and started it again. Same thing. Ran 10 or so minutes and cut off. Any ideas?

I have to ask is the fuel tank around 1/4 full, have you checked oil level and when it dies spray starting fluid or brake cleaner into air filter and try to start, if it try’s then not electrical and guessing fuel pump

I did a survey type post a whole back and no one said this 1/4 tank thing happened to them.
I've ran mine 66miles past the low fuel light as a test.
The generator still ran.

It's a good idea to NOT try this as I did.

Likely depends on how far the installer decided to push the siphon tube into the fuel tank that day.

On mine generator was working fine then I went to do some work in it and it died noticed I was just at 1/4 tank , filled it up took a couple try’s and worked fine. Mine is a diesel but don’t think would be a difference.

Well this is opposite of before.
I guess it's a some do some don't thing.

My slide has no safety features to open it and most do.

Mine won't operate if the engine is running - no other requirements.

The 1/4 tank thing was probably an industry standard because it makes too much sense.

Then people who had no idea of the purpose of cutting the generator pickup short of the bottom started assembling motorhomes. So now you get what you get - some are right - some are assembled to let you get that last drop of fuel out of the tank.

Clean the carburetor. By the way, the code is flashed on the button used to start and stop the genset. The exact methodology can be found in a youTube video. Get used to looking stuff up on youTube, it's more informative and less likely to get off topic.

Thank you all! Love these forums. I’m thinking it’s the gas tank. I totally forgot about the 1/4 thing. It’s about there. Will get gas today and keep my 🤞!

Just to let you all know…it was the1/4 gas thing! Got gas and cut out twice. Had to prime the generator and all good to go. I didn’t know about the priming thing either. Thanks everyone!

Have you checked the coolant level for the generator? We received our 2025 and the coolant was below full. The generator has a self preservation to cut itself off if it's going to overheat. Once we topped ours to the full cold level the generator ran just fine.
