Greetings to all!
We've just replaced, or will have replaced once we sell it, our 2009 Winnebago View 24J with a 2015 Thor Citation Sprinter (SR floor plan).

We purchased D'Arvy II from Motorhome Specialists in Alvarado, Texas after trying like crazy to get our local dealer to sell a well-used one for the same price as the new at MHS.

After a 2k mile uneventful drive, D'Arvy II's is at her new homes in central Oregon (there is a dry side to our beautiful state) and we're preparing her for her first adventure.

Lucky you. we bought from MHSRV also and now pay the price of no service. Multiple problems across 3 manufacture warranties with no central service manager to deal with it all. And MHSRV is not helping any. I will say their set up is quite impressive and while you are there they treat you very well..once the check clear you are on your own..

I was a bit suspicious of MHS because, as you said, the sale was almost hassle free. I've been telling myself that the savings might be worth it. We've owned a two Sprinter based RVs since 2006 and knew that at least that part was fairly reliable.

Between the 2K mile drive home and prepping for a two week trip in northern CA that starts today I've been nothing less than astounded at overall poor workmanship/lack of QC IE screws and metal shavings left under the mattress, refer door hits the bathroom door, dirt and hand prints under the trim tape, etc, etc, etc. I'm not hopeful but my mantra continues to be "but I saved $40k"

We are going to Texas to pick up our new 23u class C in about 10 days. I also tried to buy local but 10-15K difference was just too much. We will have 4 days to get back to central Washington before I must be back at work. Hopefully it will also be an uneventful trip. Did they discuss warranty work with local shops? Is it really the fault of the seller or are the local shops treating you poorly because you did not buy from them?

You will be on your own for the most part. There is no local dealer that will br very helpful, but if you have enoughtime to leave maybe some things get fixed, olan on doing most the work yourself. Thor has been useless in resolving problems. With the money I saved i can pay to fix stuff under warranty. For sure my local dealers will not get as much as an oil change out of me now. I am going to drop the coach off for a month at one to see if they can fix the dash a/c and a number of small issues when I go on a air vacation next month. Whatever deal you make with MHSRV get it in writting. They owe me a door and a mattress agreed at the sale but I did not make part of the contract so seems lost now. Also, take the rig on a shake down trip for a few days so you can go back and get some stuff fixed.

We have a local independent that does warrantee work on most all models of coach, Dodge or Mercedes dealer does the Sprinter maintenance. I have taken a previous rig to the local RV dealer and have received good and courteous service. I think buying elsewhere is common and sales doesn't talk to service much.

MHS picked me up at DFW at 9:30 and I was ready at noon but waited for UPS delivery of a missing driver side step friction pad. It didn't come and hasn't been sent as MHS promised. I ditto petef's admonition to get anything like that in writing.
