I am looking to add a hitch to my 222rb and it appears that when the hitch is added I will have somewhere around 8"" of clearance from the bottom of the hitch fixture to the ground. I'm concerned that this will not be enough clearance. I don't do any offroading and/or boondocking. Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.
No the hitch isn't being attached to the bumper so we won't have to rehash the perils of that. lol

I agree that 8" is not enough clearance. If you were to pull out from a parking lot onto a roadway that is a few inches higher than the parking lot, you would be dragging the receiver on the parking lot surface when the trailer's front axle starts up the incline. If you put a rack or a bicycle carrier in the receiver, it would likely be damaged. The factory mounted receiver on my Rockwood is 15" from the ground.
