Half a/c not blowing

It’s the drives side, duct’ed a/c

Its the round drum shaped fan thats moves the air in most heating and cooling systems (in cars and homes).

So there’s no duct work, just a channel cut through the foam insulation?

Yes, channels cut in foam. Take a flashlight and look in the air ducts thoughout the ceiling and you will see the styrofoam.

Check for foam blockage by taking the large inside covers off as well as each individual covers. I found a 2 inch x 2 inch block covering one of my bedroom vent covers.

You might be able to start AC with covers off and it blows out whatever is block air flow?

I would take the large cover off and look inside the vents to see what is going on. You might see some foam or something else blocking air flow.

It now sounds like you're talking about the DASH A/C...not the overhead RV A/C...is this correct?? If so, you have a duct hose from the blower that delivers A/C to the each side of the dash disconnected. We were understanding this to me a rooftop A/C.

No he said the duct under the AC is fine.... the duct heading to the Rear vents was the problem?

heres a pic of what you are up against....the divider wall might have come loos and is pushed against the dr. side blocking...it's kindoff a what do you think is in this box deal....you can keep guessing.... or open the box...

in the pic you can see, {if you know what you are looking at) the faulty install..
the divider wall needs to be placed to separate the service (cold air) from the return air (warm)… other wise it will just cavitate the air and you will have weak air pressure at the vents..the idea of cutting a hole in the grill is an old , everybody needs to do it mod for ductless ac units...you want the cold air to be blowing the most at the farthest away vent.... that way it will push the warmer air to the unit to cool.... it an air exchange...draws the warm air into the unit, cool it and pushes it out the vents... what I have found is the chill grille blocks the retuen,... makes it noisey and cool less... that and the ac registers are tooo small causing wind noise in the coach... the chill grill buts a load on the fan and slows the return air from getting to the evaporator,..I seen the best results , more air flow, and quieter, and cool the coach better by throwing all that plastic mess in the trash, sealing of the return and service .. making all the air go out the vents...one way to see if you need bigger or more service vents is to remove all the round register grills...you can hear the fan get quieter.. and more air flow...


after sealing the unit, I put a 16 x 16 residentual metal grill..

I am referring to the roof top a/c, not the dash.
Port side from the unit to the back bedroom there is no air blowing. I’m going to pull the cover off and see if there’s some styrofoam blockage

We have a Axis 24.1 2015, the a/c unit is only blowing in half the rig. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this problem?

Remove cover on the inside, there is a piece of ductboard that separates return from supply air. On every rooftop a.c. unit I have repaired the ductboard divider is either not fully sealed or is loose causing airflow to circulate in the unit and not thru the ducts. Reattach and seal with good quality ductboard tape and this will solve most of your airflow issues.

I been thinking of doing this same mod this spring. Did it make is significantly quieter? Or just a little quieter?

Did the ducted air speed up some since the hot air return is more efficient and direct?

is it a little... or a lot...that differs greatly by individuals … so I use a DB meter... dropped 20 db was the results...as you remember I was fighting the single AC in 128 degree havasu weather...the struggle was real...

Wow 20 DB... thats great.

Yeah we all worked on our AC last summer and had a few threads going at the same time.... I had some great cooling improvements but it would be nice to make it a little quieter...... And if it helps the cooling even futher then its a WIN WIN in my book.
