Has anyone used Mopeka tank sensors on the gray tank?

Our gray and black tank sensors are reading empty, so something has broken somewhere. We are considering adding a Mopeka sensor on the bottom of the gray tank to get a more reliable idea of how full it is. I know these work great on removable propane tanks for trailers. We're in a Palazzo motorhome. We just want to know how fast our gray tank is filling.

Moped senors have a magnet to hold to bottom and black tanks are plastic. Then it will ask which tank you have 7 gallon vertical or horizontal type. I don’t think it will work, easier to add new senors

They have sensors for gray and fresh water tanks that are similar to the propane sensors. They have to be installed on the bottom of the tank when the tank is full. I'm just wondering if it is worth the effort and money to install these. Do the water sensors work as advertised?

All Mopeka sensors are liquid level sensors. As long as you have a good interface between the sensor and the tank it should work just as well on a gray tank as on a propane tank.

So if they read liquid levels would solids or a wad of TP read as full, for me trust my sensors and watch for the burp

No, they see the interface between liquid and air. The TP or turd would not be the same.

Note: The sensors are for water, fresh and gray. Not for black tank. I don’t understand why it always ends up as a discussion about turds. Well, I have one idea why.

I mean, the question in the title is pretty clear.

While you are the original inquisitor, you are not the only person who can gain from our collective knowledge peripherally based on your question; that might directly lead to someone else making the leap to black tanks, freshwater, propane, or milk in the fridge or the fuel tank in their rat-rod or household fuel-oil heater.

To directly answer your only question: yes.
