HDMI Splitter

Recently purchased a 2017 Thor Gemini. Above the refrigerator is a space that contains a faceplate with a cable connection and an on and off switch for the antenna. Also a 4x1 splitter which has an HDMI cable in the input and there are three HDMI cables in the outputs which I assume goes to the three TV's. My question.... what could be source for the HDMI cable in the input slot?
My thought was to feed the Wally through that input.

No dvd player. Just a cable plate and an HDMI 4x1 splitter with an input cable that comes in from the wall. Have no idea what that input cable is connected to on the other end.

Go to the Thor owner resource page and download the AV cable diagram.

This appears to be a previous owners hdmi set up. Not factory installed.

And you expect us to read the previous owners' mind?

If the input wire disappears into an unfollowable area is it feasible a PO installed it. Looking at the output cables is it feasible they were installed aftermarket to the TVs? Or do they disappear into the wall as well?

The DVD player may not be where the HDMI switchbox is. Look in all the other cabinets for the source or, if you have an entertainment center (radio/CD player) maybe that's really a DVD player as well and the source of the input.

I wasn't "expecting" anything. Just asking a question.

And you got answers based on the experience of others with OEM installed splitter systems.

When you added that it appeared to not be factory setup you opened up a world of unknowns so that no one here could possibly anticipate what a PO did.

Now it's up to you to do some further investigation to determine if it really was a PO or OEM installation and find the input source based on the information others here have provided for you.

Good luck in your quest and let us know what you find. It may help someone else in the future.

On my rig…
I have the Trav’ler rooftop dish
Cable comes down from roof into Wally
Then Wally splits 3 HDMI cables to the 3 TVs
So all TVs watch the same DISHnet channel (which is what I wanted)
Also, each TV has their own DVD player with either a separate HDMI cord, or a HDMI A/B switch in the cabinet (if you get what I’m saying)

I like my current set-up, although with the Trav’ler dish I could potentially run a separate cable with a second, independent Wally if desired.

I just bought a Dish Tailgator. I have no idea what the previous owner did.Wires going everywhere. I'm just going to buy a new television and carry it in the Gemini and connect directly to the Wally. The other 3 tv's will make nice ornaments when they can't pick up over the air channels.

I own a 2019 Compass - so very similar to your 2017 Gemini. Your setup over the fridge is very similar. The faceplate with the cable connection is used when you connect to cable at a campsite or use the off air antenna. That on/off switch (just a button on mine) is to switch between the cable or antenna. (And I can never remember which is which.)

The 4 way splitter appears to be the same as mine. The only difference - your input HDMI cable goes into the wall. Mine goes to a DVD player. As an experiment, I would remove that HDMI input cable and connect a new one leading to your Wally. Change your source input on the TV and see if it works. Hope it does.

I have a 2016TR. This is pic inside my cabinet and input does indeed come from Jensen unit. I downloaded the manual online from Jensen website. Good luck trying to understand it, as i am tech illiterate!

i feel your pain. I had a HDMI cable that hooked to the Bedroom TV on the new 2021 ACE. I literally spent a week trying to figure out where the other end went to. Finally an intelligent fellow from THOR looked at the schematic and said.... HDMI port next to bed. DAH, if they only put decals next to these things, new owners would have a chance.....
