Yes, I have said that too Dave. When someone says, "Oh! They are copying us!" I say GOOD! Then that's a good incentive to keep running faster... If only there was competition in, say, health care... NO I do not want to open THAT can of worms!! LOL! The absence of competition means the consumer loses, ALWAYS.

You're right about health care.....that's my area of expertise. More competition would be better.
 
20k difference makes me suspicious. Can they really make an equal product for 20k less? I'll be waiting for the results Dave.
 
Just walked past a new Landmark here in the park. I'm fairly certain they use the same exterior parts that the Redwood uses. The doors are in the exact same location on every spot. Also they use the same 6 point leveling system, the frame looks slightly different in that there appears to be outriggers but otherwise similar. It does have the H Rated wheels and tires.

It is a beautiful rig, but the. Again so is the Redwood. Not sure I see a $20k difference, but then again I'm confused as to which one is more expensive.
 
Thor is the parent company of both brands as well as several others so in order to make money I am sure the same vendors supply to all of Thors different entities, works for Walmart.

The 20k difference is mostly the dealer, HUGE MARKUP in these upper end units. But rightfully so.

Do lots of shopping.
EXAMPLE;
10 am found the perfect unit in jonesboro, ar
1:15 pm found for 24 k less in memphis, tn

I like my redwood but the custom made coaches by either New Horizons or Continental Coach intrigue me. A lot more money but still less investment than a diesel pusher with even better quality. Made to my specs for easier maintenance.
 
We know the Mor Ride is more expensive, but if Landmark uses that then there has to be other components. Perhaps wages and location have something to do with it too. It becomes a muddled mess when I try to compare apples to apples.
 
Manufacturers sometimes install a stripped down version of the retail version, which can be deceiving. Montana boasted the Mor-Ryde suspension, but unlike the retail LR suspension Mor-Ryde sells, it was an LRE version that was stripped of shocks.
 
similar to the Rancho shocks on the 2011 and up superduties were rancho 'branded' shocks made to ford's specs...
Rancho did their reputation a real disservice doing that as MOST ford owners swap out their shocks very quickly ...

Mine were shot in < 10k miles... on both the 250 and 350... put real ranchos on them and night and day difference in ride ...
 
Hate to say it but if we had to choose I looked at the Ashland model from landmark and loved it but if all the problems were taken away from ours then I wouldn't be typing this all in all redwood gives you that warm feeling bar none but if somebody dropped one in my lap and backed there warranty by no serious issues then I would have a no brainer

Monroe mag 60 or rancho, which is the better
 
Wrong thread but Ranchos cheaper is not always better. But bielstiens are my choice for sure
 
Just like oil... it's all personal opinion...
I like the rancho 9000's - adjustable and lifetime warranty IIRC - cuz I've never had to use it :)

but have had them on 2 Excursions and 2 Superduties...
set them on 1 for soft cushy rider up to 9 for firm tight ride... I usually have them about 2 or 3 unloaded and 8 in the rear towing the rw...

I had those on my other beast. Loved them but changed to bielstiens on other beast and night and day difference
