Heartland RV aquires DVR

(Assume you mean DRV?)

I thought Cruiser was a Crossroads?

Interesting on the DRV. I'm not sure if that is a good thing. Kind of like Redwood becoming a Crossroads. I always figured my next would be a DRV, but maybe not now.

It seems more likely to me that Thor would want to merge the lesser known Redwood into the DVR line than to have competing brands. Just when I was getting serious about Redwood, too.

Redwood is still a good product there's just some competition in the family. Remember, the end consumer wins when there's competition. Look at the trucks...now they're all good.

The way I see it is....Redwood has 2 options #1 keep building good product and learn to do it one step better than the competition or #2 roll up their carpets and go home. I believe they'll go with #1 and stay ahead of the competition.

Wife and I was considering a DRV for our next home but now we will reconsider. Not happy with the service/repairs through Redwood and Redwood dealers.

This purchase just shows THOR want to control the RV Industry.

THOR can learn from the purchase but the bottom line is THOR made this purchase to make more money :)

Guess if you cannot beat the competition, just buy them.!!!

It will be interesting to see where all the premium 5th Wheels (Redwood, DRV, Landmark and others) shake out in this deal.

Redwood launched new model lines targeted towards the weekend / vacation user then THOR buys DRV.
Sure seems like Redwood is moving down a level or two to make room for DRV.

This should really shake things up over on RV Net, per most of them there's only two good RVs, DRV and Artic Fox. Now they'll only have one.

Maybe this will give me more leverage to get my Mor/ryde IS installed prior delivery.

:iagree:

This will shake things up, not sure for the better or worse :)

It already has! Poor folks over there - first the Carriage is re-introduced with a Lippert I-beam frame, and now the beloved Mobile Suites with a Heartland logo....

FTR, Heartland service is top of the line. On my two Heartlands, they went out of their way to help me on minor problems, the only problems I had. More than once they set me up with a mobile repair to come to my site to repair my RV.

Redwood also tried to set me up with a mobile repair but I ended up fixing it myself with help over the phone

When our fridge was not working properly the service center wanted me to take it to a dealer for repair. After calling 3 different dealers and being told I could not get into any of them for over a month they authorized me to get a mobile tech who came out the same day.

Leonard has reimbursed me for a mobile tech, as well as non-dealer repair. I think if they understand the situation, they won't stand in your way of getting things fixed.

Someone needs to post up one of those corporate structure ladder thingys so I can try to get my head around all of this moving and shaking. I'm lost. :banghead:
