New to RVing and just purchased a used 2012 Thor Four Winds 28A.

Very excited to take it out and start living the life.

Congratulations Art. The 28A floorplan worked very well for us on a 3-week trip with family in a rented motorhome. With over 100 cubic feet of outside storage it makes packing a joy. The rear MegaStorage compartment is great.

I'm curious, is yours on the Chevy or Ford chassis?

Chance - it's the Ford E350.

Yep, the huge storage in the back was a key reason for me (wife had her own reasons) to choose this RV. Now the challenge of packing stuff in there so it doesn't all bounce around

Yep, the huge storage in the back was a key reason for me (wife had her own reasons) to choose this RV. Now the challenge of packing stuff in there so it doesn't all bounce around

I packed the large rear compartment with various things including a cooler with extra food, chairs, tool box, duffles with clothes, etc. and drove from Texas to California and back, about 5,000 miles total. Nothing moved around that I could notice, and nothing was damaged. And I didn't tie anything down. Unless items are fragile, I don't think you'll have much to worry about.

That MegaStorage compartment is a great design I wish Thor would make available on Axis/Vegas 24.1 floorplan.
