I'm new to the forum, along with being new to owning a camper. Mine is a 2005 CrossRoads Cruiser M 29RK 5th wheel at 32' I'm living in it full time.

Thank you very much. I may wind up having many odd questions about the RV. I have been learning through trial by fire lol

Welcome to the forum! Feel free to post your questions. There are many seasoned, knowledgeable members on the forum who will try to answer them.

Anything around 5000 watts will be pretty heavy. Unless you go with two smaller ones like Honda 2200 (just for an example) and use a parallel connection.

Lloyd,

Honestly i only have about 400 lbs of my own stuff. I'm not too worried about the weight. Most are around 100 to 135 pounds. And my front compartment under the rv has been reinforced for the previous owner who had a generator in the spot. I'm only interested in one for boondocking and power outages during the winter. I'm planning to get a Dual Fuel version to use my on board propane. Honestly I have found several different versions that are very quiet too around 65db.

I wasn't thinking about how much weight it would add to the trailer.
I was thinking about having to lift it in and out of the truck bed.:)

Ah ok gotcha, I'm not capable of picking it up. I'm going to mount it in the under storage in front, then all I have to do is open the door and secure it open when it is running.

Just be very sure to route the exhaust away from the camper.

Welcome to the forum. We’ve all been newbies so we have a lot of knowledge with many years of experience. So, the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask.

Papa-T

Thanks, I have been figuring out stuff through the hard way before I found this page.

Were in the Seymour/Marshfield area. We've been to Indigo Sky and stay at their campground. They have a nice pool at the hotel next to the park. That you can use. We don't gamble but do enjoy their buffet.

I've never been inside the casino there. You are practically a neighbor being up that way. I'm curious how fast does your heater drink the propane? I nearly burned 1/2 of a 30 lb propane tank in 1 night.

Welcome! The Harbor Freight Predator 5000 dual fuel is $300. off for Black Friday Sale.

Well unfortunately I'm waiting for another inheritance check so I can get a generator. But from what everything i have read dual fuel isn't the most important thing. I need maximum run times. And propane is terrible for running time. I've already acquired a auxiliary gas tank and straps to mount it by the generator. Making it possible to run for a few days
