Hello My name is Mike and My wife is Laura, we just purchased a 2005 Thor Hurricane from a woman in Oaklahoma for $4600 and got burnt. We lost our house a couple of weeks ago in a fire and everything we owned was a loss, we had no insurance to cover the damages so we pretty much are screwed,
I had a job going on renovating a hotel in Branson Mo and was lucky that I left my tools there to finish up the job the next day. We finished the job and made $3600 that's what we had to purchase this RV with, we found it on Facebook marketplace and took an Uber for $300 to go look at it,
Upon arriving there we met at the womans house and there it sat in the front yard so we talked to her and her boyfriend about it and they told us what was needed to have it road worthy. We ended up having to give her the $3400 and she also had her eye on my woman's wedding ring that was a carrot diamond worth over a $1,000. She said to throw it in and the RV was sold so here we were desperate for a place to sleep besides the front seat of our neighbors pickup truck, so we bought it and drove off towards Branson Mo.
By the time we made it through Mt Vernon Mo we were pulled over by the police that said that there was a BOLO on this RV and it was stolen. So I gave him the Bill of Sale and title that we had just signed and they ran all the numbers on it which came back non existing. So there was several other cops called in on the scene and we were pulled from inside and detained for several hours while they called and called people and tried to figure] out if what we told them was the truth. My wife is 4 months pregnant mind you and its 100 degrees outside.
Well I was took to jail because they couldn't verify my info about whom I was and what was going on with the RV. As this was happening my RV was impounded and towed away leaving my wife stranded in the middle of nowhere with no ride or much money to do anything with. They ended up finding out that everything we said was the truth and she was brought to the jail where I was booked in, fingerprinted and released.
We called the impound lot to tell them we were on our way to get the RV and needed an address to get there, they said it would be the next day before we could get it out because the driveshaft had been taken off for some stupid reason unknown, Well we had $200 to our name after I had realized that I had actually messed up and gave the woman $200 more than what was to be given for the RV somehow the day before. But anyways we were forced to get a hotel for the night and it was $100 so we had $100 left to our name to live on till I got another job landed back home,. We ended up having to wait at the Mc Donalds till 5 in the evening before they were able to get our RV back together so we could be on our way home.
Well we couldn't get an Uber to give us a ride to pick it up so we googled the address so we could walk to get it, it was a 3.5 hr walk to get there and we both were mentally drained as she was physically due to being pregnant and all the B.S. we went through . So we ended up bumming a ride from an old man at the gas station and when we got there finally we had to wait for three hrs to get the keys from them so we could finally leave the dang place and be on our way home.
Well it started raining and we got to noticing there was a noise from the back room and I stopped to check it out and discovered a leak pouring down into the corner of the room and I went over to the spot and removed some stuff that was given to us from the gal we bought it from and there was black mold, mushrooms growing all up under the bed, the floors are rotted out and none of the 3 slide outs will even operate.
So here we are stuck with this garbage of a RV that we discovered is full of leaks and was hidden until we did a real good look over and I wont allow my wife to even go into the back room and breath the fumes of mold growing out of the carpet and ceilings. I need some help to figure out how to get these slideouts to open up so I can try to get this thing fixed if its even save able. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!!
