Hi,
Dave here. My wife and I have been rving for a while. Popup, 5th wheel & TT.
Supposed to take delivery of our new Chateau 31L this coming Friday. First time in a Class C for us.
We travel with our 2 dogs. Archie is a 12 y/o Cairn Terrier and Shiloh is a 7 y/o Springer Spaniel.
We live in Northen California, Sonoma County. Wine Country.

Wondering if anyone has heard of or experiencing vibration issues with the E450 chasis?
Dealer said during PDI they noticed our rig has a slight vibration at highway speed. Mfg sent parts, but did not fix. Said it is known issue with longer rigs and more parts are on the way. Dealer says they have three other rigs with same issue.

Is there a forum that discusses this issue?
Thank you...

Welcome to the forum. We have a 2016 31L. Only vibration we have occurs at 60 MPH. And it is just a noise. Nothing we can feel. Waiting until camping season is over before we take it in.

Thank you.
That's what the dealer said. We will take it out for shakedown this weekend and go out to the woods for a few days of dry camping and hunting after that.
They will notify us when new parts arrive.

Service Manager said they think it is a "stretched differential" issue. Has something to do with longer rigs.
Checked a couple other forums. Some orders for longer motorhomes on 2016 E450 chasis were put on hold because of the "vibration". The 2016 has a 6 speed transmission, but the " manufacturer" wasn't notified of the difference and used 2015 specs. How accurate this is I don't know, but it sounds like the orders have been released and producrtion is starting up again.

Doesn't explain why my 2016 on a 2015 chasis has a drive train issue though. Hopefully, I will find out more when I pick it up tomorrow.

When the build the coach they oftentimes have to stretch the frame and when this is done the drive shaft must be lengthened. When the drive shaft is lengthened if it is not perfectly balanced it could cause a vibration. Generally the greater the speed the more noticeable the vibration.

Just food for thought.
