I lived in Staatsburg at what is now the Primrose Hill Farm- roomie from UVM- his parent's place- (now in Jericho, VT), but I know that area! Rhinebeck was a favorite place of mine with the aerodrome.
I renovated an old house In Boiceville. I remember crossing over in Kingston every day.
I was a forester there as well, doing DEC 480A land use plans.
The farm was a destination point for NYC xmas tree buyers, and I planted a lot of the trees there when I was there. What rig do you have?

Yup- been to FDR's place a couple times. When I was a kid, I was into WWI aeroplanes, and knew of Cole Palen at the Rhinebeck aerodrome in an article in my model magazine, so I met him once in 1976 and looked at and drooled over all the planes. He's passed since, sadly, but I remember it well.
Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck also has/had 50 handbuilt white oak Windsor chairs I made when working at Stissing Hollow for $2/ hr. Shaker design and all hand crafted- dark stain and danish oil finish. I worked there building the complex before that as well. Those chairs were still there after 20+ yrs, when I went thru and stopped in to see... not sure they are still there, but white oak is tough stuff!
I spent a lot of time in Poughkeepsie and environs too- many forestry clients in that area.
So you have Travel trailer then- nice. I'd have one except I would need a 2nd vehicle as my EV would lose 50% range just hooking up! So I have a class B instead.
