Hi Everyone-
We are in the process of purchasing a 2017 Four Winds Siesta 24SS. Today we were doing the final inspection and no one could find the low point drains. One of the techs eventually told me the drained through the outdoor shower which is located in the lower driver side rear in the “wet bay”. Does this sound right? It doesn’t to me. There are two blue pex pipes coming down through bottom by the fresh water tank but those go back up into the tank itself. I’m at a loss and would appreciate some help with this. Thank you!

On every RV I've owned the low point drains are visible somewhere on the belly of the RV. Follow them up and you will find the valves. I had a Fleetwood class c and two of its drains were behind a drawer under the fridge. On my Hurricane, two of them are behind a drawer in the outside kitchen. So they are not always easy accessed. I would search for a more knowledgeable tech to finish any pre-purchase inspection.

Thanks. I've also reached out to Thor customer service as well. I think they may be behind that Anderson water panel somehow but I looked all over for the valves and didn't see anything obvious. They were obvious on my truck camper. Thanks for the reply.

Crawl under the motorhome and locate any PEX stubs sticking out facing downward. Look closely - there should be both a blue and a red one.

Once you find those, make a mental note where they go through the floor. Go inside the coach and find the point directly above that.

Looks like your fresh tank is accessible in a compartment left of the entry door. It's likely that PEX you found was a drain, but it could have been the freshwater tank drain.

First, open the cabinets (or remove drawers) under the sink so you have access to the floor. Also remove the drawer under the stove area. The valves are often buried in a floor cutout... sometimes hidden under a run of PEX. Look CLOSELY. They may be "Poppet" style valves which resemble miniature versions of your Valterra waste tank drain valves... they have a little finger-pull T handle.

Look closely in the floor under those cabinets. Let us know if you find anything.

Thanks. I agree, I think what we found were the fresh water tank drain. We looked and couldn't find any others. I'm trying to track down a water system piping diagram or schematic. The problem is I'm now back home without the coach and it's 2.5 hours away. When I finally bring it home I will be bringing it to freezing overnight temps so I need to get this sorted. I'll let you know what I find, or if I can confirm anything from Thor. I've reached out to them as well.

Also, is this the case on yours? I guess I would just open the faucet handles and see if anything comes out with the pump off...
If the drain you found underneath is in fact the freshwater tank drain, open it to drain the tank. There should also be a shutoff on the PEX "suction" line - between tank and pump. Close that also.

Open ALL inside faucets (hot & cold). Then go outside and open BOTH hot & cold outside shower faucets. You can also BRIEFLY cycle the water pump to expel residual water. Remove the little plastic bowl from the pump and dump the water from it.

You also need to deal with your water heater depending on type.

Thanks for this. I think I'll be good now going forward. I was able to get the plumbing schematics from Thor, which I'll post. I need go back down to the dealer and see if the LPDs are in fact by the fresh water tank where they are supposed to be. I'm pretty sure they aren't there. I'm going to blow out the lines as best I can and get some antifreeze in the P traps. Thanks for taking the time to respond and advise. I appreciate it very much!

I reached out to Thor Customer Service. They were very prompt and helpful. They sent the plumbing schematics to me. Here they are.
