We have a 2021 Thor Motor Coach built on a FORD E450 Econoline frame. It has a safety recall on the power steering pressure line. NO ONE will fix it. We have tried 6 Ford dealers who claim to be Commercial (and should be able to lift a large vehicle) and they all say they cannot do the repair on an RV. The camping dealers say Ford won't give them authorization to work the issue. We called the RV customer service support, they supposedly started a case number and would give us authorization for Camping World to repair it at an RV repair center within 24-48 hours. Then we got a voice mail saying only an authorized Ford dealer could repair it. We called the RV customer support center back, they said all they could do is call "Fleet." Meanwhile we have a roof leak that Camping World won't repair until the recall is fixed. I can't be there only one with this recall notice 22S08. Where is everyone getting this recall addressed? I have a one year old RV that is not safe to drive.

If it weren't safe to drive you wouldn't have been told to DRIVE it to a dealer for recall. That's a fact.

While warranty/recall work is a fine thing, you should serve yourself first. If a dealer won't fix it, buy the hose and have an independent do the fix. Be out the $200+-and check the box of happier.

Warranties are only a good thing when They're a good thing for you.
Ssssooo many people think it's some inalienable thing they should invest 100 hours and a 300 mile drive to exercise...because it's free.

Someone was here today saying they couldn't find service in their area.
A 10 second look in Google by someone 3,000 miles away...and the op now has an appointment...on Monday.

Did you do a really diligent search?
If you had to go 200 miles, could you turn it into a fun(ish) adventure.?

For starters, I no longer accept Thor as the company that manufactured my coach. I now call them Loki.

I think the Miramar is on an F-53 Chassis and we haven't seen that recall yet. Good luck. In Boise, ID there are 3 Ford dealers. We had to have ours towed 70 miles to Mountain Home to the one Ford dealer closer than Salt Lake City to fix a rear axle recall.

The recall is for a visual inspection to see IF you need new lines. This doesn't even require a service bay. It can be performed in the parking lot.

Fewer then 12% of affected vehicles are expected to require new lines.

Call Ford.

Most if not all Ford dealers are not allowed to perform work in parking lots. Insurance reasons, and they don’t make exceptions.

Fact! If it won't fit in one of their service bays, they won't even look at it. I bought a pallet of stones the other day at Home Depot. I had to move my truck 10 feet for them to load it. They said insurance requirements would not let them go but so far from the store doors and it had to be in a specific area roped of like Area 51.

I use term parking lot loosely. My technician took RV back to service area and did the inspection. Technically still a parking lot as they didn't bring it inside the building.

Cut to the chase. Send a written letter to Thor, cc it to your attorney. If they don't contact you with a fix in a short time, park the rig and sue them.

Worst advice ever.
Who is them? Ford? Thor? Cw? Doe 1 through 26?
Thor isnt involved
Ford has a policy
Ford Dealer service has a policy
Cw has a safety issue
Doe 1 through 26 is the fluff you know it is.

I'd charge you with $500 to read your letter and a judge/arbitrator would charge with frivolity.

Tell us the success rate of this tactic.

I am in Tucson and no Ford dealer in the area will do this recall. Ford Customer Service said I should take it to Phoenix to get it fixed. We're leaving for Minnesota on Monday and hopping for the best.

I suspect I have the same recall you do. I had to call a dozen Houston area dealerships who all kept referring me to each other. I finally found one that said they'd do it but the earliest they could get to it is three months out.

Ford Recall

Last fall I went to the Ford dealer in Oracle AZ. They had previously done a recall for me and they also charge me $1600 to fix an AC problem. The service manager refused to do this recall. I thought it was do to the fact they don't make any money on warranty so I said I would kick in another $100 for labor, he turned me down. I spoke to a different dealer in Tucson, one that has an RV hoist. He refused to do the warranty as well. IMO, there is something going on that is not obvious.
