Hot fridge

With heating in cabinet next to fridge, I looked behind upper vent door, there is a "wall" about 3/4 up with opening of approximately 3 inches for cooling, is that right?, shouldn't that area be completely open?.

Alot of our source of heat in the cabinet next to the frig is that it faces the afternoon heat and so it heats up more, same with the closet in the bedroom. We even have a fan blowing in the closet to get most of the heat out or we leave the hamper door open in the hot afternoons.
We had a rotten egg smell coming out of our kitchen sink when we ran water in it. It was not in any other water area so we knew it was something in the sink. We spent $6 for a new trap, pulled the spice rack cabinet out and replaced it. YEA NO MORE SMELL and did not have to take it in for a repair.

I have the same rotten egg smell coming from the kitchen sink (and dishwasher). Did you find the source?
Was there something in the trap?

We are seasonal campers and we have had that smell as well. If your hose sits in the sun and you don't use the water for a while it will kill the filter in short time and smell like eggs. We try to protect the hose by running it straight in from the source and over the tires and along the frame rail. So fsr this season it has worked. We also put some oderless in our gray tanks. This heat we all are experiencing is breaking down everything.

Hi all.
We had that very problem on a TT we owned. Turned out to be Hydrogen Sulfide gas and a lack of a water seal in the traps. You might want to read this post.

We are full timers so we don't have a problem with not using in water sources. We replaced the trap. It did not look like it had something in it but doing research some of the traps are bad or don't open and close correctly so they need replaced. we replaced it then ran boiling water down the drain and let it set to hopefully clean off anything that might be stuck. Drained tank and now we don't have the smell so far. I am also putting water softener down the drain to hopefully keep stuff off the walls. Time will tell for us.

The trap we changed is the one in the sink area (in the spice rack area). It keeps the fumes from coming back into the house. It will open and close as water goes into the tank.

I'm having a hard time picturing a 'P' trap that opens and closes? Every P-trap I ever worked on or looked at traps water in the U shaped section thus providing a water seal to prevent gas backing up into your house / rig. If one leaks and the water drains out, you get that flavorful aroma..
What type trap are you speaking about??
On edit, could you be referring to vacuum breakers?

It is a filter behind the spice rack door. It was $6.29 at home depot and so far no more smell.
