Hot Water Tank Issue

My hot water tank has been running on electricity for about 2 months now and today no hot water. I flipped it to propane and that works, thank heavens!
When I tried to toggle the on/off switch at the tank, it would not move. Looks like it seized up??? This is an FL36 so access to the tank is somewhat of a pain so checking out that switch is not trivial.
In any case, just wondering if any of you may have come across a similar issue and can provide some insight?

more than likely it's the electrical limit switches that control the temp of the water. If it's that bad to get to i would question if its had a Anode rod put in it every season? Water quality plays a big role in how long the anodes last but I find two season tops and there is nothing left of the anode .

Check the switch just below burner tube. If you cannot move the switch on more off the switch has burned out. I have 36FL the had to replace this switch twice. Any water or condensation will allow the switch to short out. This will stop the electrical side of the tank to stop working

If the switch is functioning property. Then the thermostat that control the temperature are bad. They are located under the black rubber square that has reset on printed on it

Make sure the wiring has not rub through the insulation that is connected to them they don't leave much wire and the metal surrounding them are left fold such a way that the wire could chafe and short it out

As I mentioned in my original post, the switch is frozen, it will not toggle.
I believe, and hope, that you are correct. That was also my inclination, but now that you have confirmed that this can happen I will try to get in there tomorrow!
Did you change the switch yourself? If so, did you do it from inside via the basement?

I did replace it myself, really easy as lond as the wires are not burnt. If thet are you will need to repair that issue.

Actually, I asked 2 questions since I wasn't sure how to get the switch out?
In any case, it doesn't matter since I found the following video;

The issue was just the switch, so thankfully the tank is back on AC!!!
