hot water

We have a 36FL and it takes several minutes of running water at the kitchen sink for hot water to begin to flow. The water heater is located about 10 feet from the sink.And, the bathroom in the RW warms up quicker, but still not fast, even though it's 6 feet farther from the water heater.Never had this problem from water heater to bathroom in our Kingston 34RK where the water heater was located at the back and the bath was in front... more than 20 foot distance. Any ideas?
Side note; the Kingston had a 10 gal water heater and I never ran out of hot water during a shower... the RW has a 12 gal water heater and I always run out of hot water... nothing has changed in the length of the shower. Makes no sense to me.

Probably because the hot water has to go back up to the convenience center and then back to the sink (part of the HW bypass feature that requires the water to run up to the baypass valve before it is distributed)?

Your water heater may have filled up with calcium from hard water. Check the anode on the outside of the furnace. Believe it takes an inch and 1/16 socket to get the anode out; however, before doing so, turn your furnace off and put it in the bypass setting.

why put it in bypass? just curious... because the rig is new, as in 1 month, and we have checked the anode.

Since this is a new trailer, something is wrong and I'd take the trailer to a dealer.

That way the hot water doesn't fill up again when you pull the anode out. But agree with Dave- just take it back to the dealer.

Check and be sure that your outside shower is turned off, you may be drawing cold water from the outside mixing with the hot.

Mr. Wright, is there a bypass/shutoff for the outside "shower" Where is this if there is??? We are hooked to city water at the convenience center... and might add that the water is ice cold before it turns warm

No, you just have to be sure that the handles (knobs) are turned off or closed. I believe your hot water is running past the connection thereby drawing cold water from the outside shower even though it is not being used. Check it out, the fix should be immediate

gotcha... with the quick connect, water would not flow even if the handles are turned on... makes sense. Thanks, I'll check that out and get back to ya... hope this is the cause

knobs are and have been closed... A repairman said that the water lines are placed inside the frame but next to the frame so they are conducting the cold from the frame. Who knows at this point. Thanks for the suggestions.
