We are thinking about purchasing a 2009 Damon Tuscany 4032. The owner has never accessed the engine and does not know how to. I am curious about where the access to the top of the engine is. I’ve looked under the bed and around that area for access panel. No luck. This owner recently had interior redone, new carpet etc. does anyone have any information or pictures to show access in this model?

Do not fail to hire an rv inspector to write up an analysis AND spend two hours showing you how EVERYTHING works.

Money well spent.
Totally foolish not to do this.

Rumor is; on these DPs; that there is no access from under the bed until the first time you need that access. Then an access panel is cut (may or may not be a perforated template) for immediate and future use.

Same thing with battery access for an Axis/Vegas: but that's fact, not a rumor.

On my THOR Palazzo, the access hatch was under the carpet inside the under the bed storage. I had to remove some of the carpet to find the edges of the hatch. I cut the carpet along that edge, stapled the carpet down, removed the fasteners, added two draw pulls, and marked where the fasteners go. I installed the fasteners on top of the carpet. Easy to access now. Yes it is hidden! So the 2009 Damon Tuscany 4032 hatch must be as well. Remember people who design RV's almost never have owned one. Who would think that one need to access an engine compartment!

The hatch is in the center of the MBR floor with 4 latches on my Tuscany so apparently, they improved the access significantly over the years. It is a polished porcelain tile so no carpet to hide under

You have to have a major engine issue to need to open the hatch or reach the 100k maintenance interval

Some earlier coaches had marked hatches but the second layer of floor required cutting out.

Let us know what you come up with

Our 40ex Tuscany has a access hatch in the rear bathroom, has 2 screw latches but really not much you can reach from there unless your changing the crankcase breather
