My husband and I have recently upgraded from a '92 Ford Four Winds (with the corner bed) to a 2014 Freedom Elite 28H (with a walk around - for the most part - bed). :thumb: I am a happy camper now!! haha!! I am a Domestic Engineer :D and hubby is closing in on retiring, so we're practicing for retirement in small doses right now. We travel with our senior Pomeranian, Trip.

We've only taken one test trip to Helen, GA so far in the new rig and it was good other than a few minor things involving fuses that hubby was able to easily correct. Speaking of fuses, does anyone know what amp fuses the converter takes? There were 40 amp fuses in there, but both were blown. We'd like to know what amp is SUPPOSED to be in there. He seems to think 40 amp is not right. Hubby replaced them with a 30 amp, and because we didn't have another 30 amp fuse with us, he put in a 15 amp temporarily. I could not find anything in the manual for the converter fuses, nor could I find any thread relating to this. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Congratulations on getting ready to win the rat-race! :thumb:

... and welcome to our little corner of the internet too! :D

Hi there. Me thinks that 40 amps is probably correct. The usual converters that are factory intalled are either the 35 amp or 45 amp units. You'll have to look up the model number to know for sure. I remember because i just replaced one on our converter a couple of months ago. Ours was the 45 amp unit and had 40 amp fuses (2 of them BTW)!

Ha! Stockbridge is where we bought our first RV! We're in Paulding County, Dallas to be exact. Will do!! :D

Okay, cool! Thank you!!

Welcome aboard. I don't know, sometimes I think being retired is harder than working. Stuff like loading the MH and then deciding where to go just wears us out...……..;)
