I have installed a four point leveling system on my 2018 Thor Vegas and am wondering if I should extend them when storing for winter to take some strain off the tires. Thanks in advance for you inputs.

Yes, No, Maybe. Lots of threads on here with different opinions. Mine opinion is, the shaft can corrode when exposed for extended periods (this is what the manufacturer says). If you don't live near the salty coast, this possibility weakens. Spray them with a light oil occasionally to protect them. I don't think it matters much today as tires are no longer bias ply and flat spots are not as much a problem as they were when the only two options you could get on a car was "radio and heater".

I’m assuming they are hydraulic. Then I’d say no. The shafts are protected from the weather while not extended.

no misunderstanding, I was referring to storing rv for the winter. I live in southeast North Carolina near the coast so salt air can be a problem.

Just spoke to tech support at big foot and was told by mike that he would not personally extend the levelers for winter storage due to the possible of ruining the springs and seals over time. Made sense.. then asked how is that different than someone staying at a campground for an extended period of time leveled up?
Answer.. the levers are designed for that purpose but he would not. I'm a little confused but I've erred on the side of caution and left them up.

Where did you get the system installed? How long does it take to have it installed? How much does the system cost?

I had mine done by a local automotive business . Took less than a day. I believe I paid less than $2000 for the system and probably $175. For install. At the same time I had upgraded sway bars and steering damper installed. Check Big foot manufacturing. They also will install . I think they are located in Michigan.
