We took our integrated break controller down to 6.5 with maximum break peddle gain and proceeded from Buffalo, WY to Cody, WY using Route 16. Wow, crossing the mountain reroute to Yellowstone. Had it floored and could only get upto 40 miles an hour. The break gain seemed to be dragging us down going up, but helped going down the mountains. On the wayup, we averaged 4.9 mpg, but going down (which was as scary as going up - hairpin turns) we got 15.3 mpg , averaging 10.4 mpg. Lesson learned, set the break gain to a minimum going up and increase it going down. Other thing we noticed is that our transmission was working much harder than normal.Edited by: Adamsvr
