Seems I hit the QUOTE button on a post and it just opens a POST box, nothing quoted. Does this on 2 PCs at my house.

Anyone else see this issue?

I've had this happen to me a few times....
Thought it was a browser issue- but maybe not if you are seeing it too.

So I am not crazy and it's an intermittent site issue. I have had the issue before and it resolved itself eventually without me doing anything.

There is a problem with the quote button, it is over used. A post appears and the very first reply includes the entire quote of the post, followed by the next reply including the entire text of the original post on and on. Either some members do not know how to reply without using the quote function or they are just lazy.

If you want to include something specific from a post, then just cut that portion and paste it in your response so as to answer something specific. Those of us that connect via phone would appreciate not having to wade through a ton of repetitive quotes, particularly when the service is slow.

Ok, off my soap box now. I know this fell on deaf ears.

Of course at the other end of the spectrum you have a long winded thread with many inputs and a reply without quotes that you can't figure out which post it was replying to.

I often use the quote function so it points to the specific post I am responding to - but typically delete parts not relevant to my reply (as I did here).

If you have notifications on, it also let's you know when someone quotes your reply.

Happened again to me today... Using Firefox...
Tried Chrome and was able to quote.
Came back to Firefox and seems for some threads I can quote... others it won't let me...
Haven't figured out the pattern yet...

I kind of bounce back and forth between IE 11, and Edge...

But I still have problems with getting pages to load: the Smart guys at Dell told me to try Chrome... :nonono:
How much "different" is it?
I'm resistant to change, and don't like having to constantly figure new stuff out.

I had to uninstall Firefox after they did the update for their new and "improved" version of Firefox. I couldn't keep it from hanging up and freezing.
