I guess not or I wouldn’t be bothering y’all on a Thursday afternoon.

A 2022 Thor Sequence 20L that I used for the first time back in June and haven’t used it for RV’ing since. The grandkids want to sleep in it tonight with grandma so I filled it 2/3 full with water and when I turned on the pump it just makes a humming noise with no water pressure. Seems like before it only ran for maybe 3o seconds and went off. Did I forget a step or something since I used it the first time 2 months ago?

Help please!!

Well…I hear a humming. Seems like when I used the RV for the first time in June it made kind of a pumping sound (makes sense) for a few seconds, then shut off and I was good to go.

I did go out and put the hose on the “city water” port and faucet, sink, toilet everything was fine. May just have the kids come over here tonight. Trying to find out if the daughter has a water faucet near the garage\driveway. This really sucks though. New to RV’ing in June when we bought this thing and now this…so soon:mad:

It could be a small piece of plastic or something from "build dust" got into the diaphragm of the pump. They're pretty easy to take apart if you can get to it. Sounds like the pump motor is running bur something is jamming the diaphragm.

Water pumps are very poor at pumping air. Check for air leaks and prime the pump. Usually that can include opening all faucets and letting the pump run. In the worst case, insure all water faucets are off and the open only the cold water faucet closest to the pump, then turn the pump on and wait. If water doesn't appear, apply a slight vacuum to the faucet. I would choose the shower with the sprayer removed although the kitchen sink works for me.

Thanks Beau…I’ll try those. I hooked up water at the daughters house and grandma said the kids had a great time. Water was so they could use the toilet. You’d think it was a Disney ride

I’ll deal with it next week and let y’all know. Your approach makes sense to me. So frustrating…

Just a thought: How did you verify you had water in the tank? Could the drain valve have been left open after the last use?

Check to see if your low point drains are closed. If the one near the input side of the pump is open the pump will just suck air. If the one in the line from the Fresh tank is open it will also suck air but you will also see water coming from the fresh tank as well.

I only opened the drain valve after our trip in June to drain the extra water in the holding tank. I closed it before filling the tank yesterday. I did open it briefly to let a little water drain out…just because.

I’ll check the low point drains although I’ve never touched them and will have to look for them. I know there’s a sticker for low point.

Did you make sure the water valve is turned to pump water from your holding tank to the appliances and not have the valve set at the City Water mode. It might say something like Dry Camping is where the water valve should be set for water to de drawn from the holding tank.

Paul

Thanks for your time Paul.

The 2022 Thor Sequence does not have such a switch as far as I know. We used it for the first time in June. I filled the tank before heading up to Maine so we could use the bathroom enroute. On the way back down we stopped at 2 RV parks, used their water hookup and used the tank water for the drive home.

Don’t recall such a switch Paul…

I would , as has been said , check for obstructions ,Air in the system ,valves correct orientation , there may be an auto changeover valve in the system for when City wtr. is connected & pressurized , it may be stuck in one position , the Pump , have to make sure it is capable of pumping .

My flush valve on my toilet stuck soon after purchase & I had to disassemble it to inspect & it was full of debris , been working fine since .

He hasn't even verified the pump is running.

I have a 20L Tellaro, so same as yours- check the following:
- low points closed

- bypass (red/blue pipes) closed, hot and cold valves open (under driver side bed)
- sediment filter clean? Just before pump
- valves for sink open?
- valve just to right (or rear) of tank open? (under pass. side bed)
- and of course- water in tank, which you said you filled.

Usually something simple and you just need to get used to the system.

To add- possible bad pump- I replaced mine as soon as I got it. Cheapest POS that TMC could find.
I now have a Shurflo 4008-101-A65. Way quieter and higher quality.

Hope that helps!

PS- Beau has a great point. Air in the lines.

Also if using 'city water', should have a pressure limiter to 40psi to protect intermal fittings/ devices. Do not use pump if connected to city water- it will back pressure the line and prevent water from coming in from that conenction. Check valve at the fitting and also pump has a check valve.

I like the Disney ride reference.
Every toilet should work like that.

The issue your having is that there is a cold-water valve on the passenger's side near the freshwater tank. After purchasing my Sequence, it was professionally winterized, and apparently, they close this valve. To access the valve you need to unscrew the top of the bench on the passenger's side and you will see the fresh water tank, toward the rear of the fresh water tank will be a water valve on the blue pex line. And once again, Thor made it real difficult to turn the valve because they installed if sideways right up against the bench wall. Thor's quality on just about every aspect of my van is ridiculous and poorly assembled. Anyways, once I opened this valve the water pump, pumped water successfully with ease.

Buying it sight-unseen without any research might not have been a good idea.
Sell it.
Buy something without problems.
