Hi we are Kerry and Peggy Scott, from southeast Idaho. We have a 2013 palazzo 36.1 we bought it used in 2017. My husband was a lineman and is pretty handy with repairs. I drove school bus for 14 years. So I do city driving because I don't get stressed. People often say "that thing is so big, how do you drive i?" I just tell them it is 6 feet shorter than my last bus, and the fridge doesn't talk back. We do a lot of boondocking and dry camping. We pull a 24 foot trailer that we configure to fit the destination. Durango for hunting in North Dakota. RZR and 4 wheeler when boondocking, Goldwing and RZR when snow birding. We have not done any boondocking in Arizona so any recommendations are welcome.

:welcomesign:to the Forum. Sounds like you guys have a great setup. Driving that school bus definitely gave you a leg up on most driving a Class A MH for the first time. We look forward to your contributions to our knowledgebase.

Duck is our Az expert. Hopefully he'll be along shortly to give you some recommendations.

Right. But what about before then? Did they jump right into a 36' motorhome?

We started out with a VW Westfalia (should have kept it!), then a pop up trailer, a couple of pick up campers, a class C and now an ACE 30.1.

We use iOverlander app to find good boondocking spots.
Quartzite, the ultimate boondocking area is close to the CA state line on I10.
We have also stayed in between Phoenix and Quartzite.
We have also stayed at some nice spots in the Tucson area.

If you download iOverlander each site will say if it is big rig (what you have) friendly.

Hi and welcome from another Idaho member. My wife also drove school bus for a few years.

Welcome aboard!

Have you RV'ed before or is this your first rig?
First coach. Three bumper pulls. We did a lot of discussing on what our plans were. We opted for a coach and trailer. So far we are pretty satisfied. The downside is some of the places we used to dry camp are not somewhere we want to take Harvey.
