I have a Kindle 3G wifi and I am crazy about it, you don't have to be hooked up to a computer to download a book, what I do is usually if I am shopping at Costco or the like, I peruse the book aisle and write down the titles and authors of all the books I would normally like to buy (also write down Costco's price just to compare) then when I get home I just open my Kindle and do a search for the different books compare the price (Kindle is always cheaper) and then click "buy" and the book is downloaded in under 20 seconds. The Kindle holds 3500 books so you will never be without a book. I think you can have up to 7 people on the same account, at least that was the number last time I looked it may be more now. We have 3 people on our account, myself, hubby and daughter who attends university 4000 km away (makes no difference if you are all in the same location or not to be on the same account), anyway any books I buy will appear on my hubby's or daughters archives so that we can all access and read each others books etc. If you want to know all you ever wanted to know and more about Kindle, just type Kindleforum in your search bar and you will find a kindle forum where everything Kindle is discussed, it is a great site and you will see that some people even use the Kindle to read emails etc, there is even an app to write your grocery lists etc on the Kindle. Plus you will see one of the categories is all about bargain books, there are tons of free books, classics, .99, 2.99 etc books, people post the names in a thread as they discover them - just tons of Kindle info available on that site - enjoy!
