Ladder/Roof

Thanks for letting me join the forum. I purchased a used 2012 Sunset Reserve 31BH. The trailer does not have a ladder installed. Given the amount of attention RV roofs require, I wonder why. Is it okay to walk on the roof? If so, can I install an aftermarket ladder? If not, what recommendations can you share about how to access the roof without walking on it. Thanks again for letting me join. I look forward to learning more, and the fun that is to come with my family and our camper!

Welcome ...if yu search for walk on roof ,you should find many answers here. Roof is 3/16 luan wood , very weak . If you walk on it put a piece of plywood to span a few raftere so you dont go thru.

Rule of thumb is if it does not come with a ladder the roof is not "walkable". That does not mean that you can not get up there for service or maintenance. As stated use some boards that span the rafters and you should be fine.
