Just in case some of you didn't know.
This is a clip from the forum rules.:)

The language of this forum is English. If you are not a native English speaker, do your best.

watt rong wid my Anglish ?!?!

That BE my bets !!! :)

Too bad you HAVE to make a rule like that - isn't it?

Actually I think it's a very good rule. I can't imagine what a mess the forum would be if all different languages were allowed.
Most people here are pretty fluent with the English language.:)

Lloyd, so the rules allow one to PM someone in their native language?

Disclaimer: As a Newfoundlander, my language may sometimes come across as abrupt and to the point. We are not known for long windedness or beating around the bush.

On another note. Is this forum usually this quiet or will discussion pick up? The Forest River Forum I belong too is very active.

I can understand that. They have ten times as many members on the forest river forum.:)

Sure - no problem :)

Directed at me I'm sure, because I responded to a new member in French
(translated: Hello Congratulations and wishing you all the best in life)

Although my intent was being friendly and neighborly towards a person who speaks French as a first language, please accept my sincere apology for being ignorant of the language rule. I will refrain from committing such heinous acts in the future.

This is another example of the hard calls a moderator makes. There is no evil intent on behalf of the moderators. If some on here remember what the old forum was like, everyone would appreciate the time and effort a moderator puts into this new forum.

Again, nothing is personal. We just want the members to follow the rules and if there is a slip up, relax. We're just reminding members what the rules are.

We are all members of a great forum, we're just trying to keep it running smoothly.

Hope everybody understands this. :)

I can see absolutely no reason for anybody to take offense with this thread. There wasn't any names posted or fingers pointed directly at anybody. The rules are there for a reason. Can you imagine what kind of a mess we would have if any and all languages were allowed?

When I first joined this forum it was operated by Cross Roads. There wasn't any moderators, There was LOTS of spam tho. Most of it written in jibberish that didn't make any sense to me, and then, there was some very vocal posts between some members. All very distracting and frustrating.
Now the forum is owned and operated by Social Knowledge. They have done a pretty good job of implementing new programs that has helped this forum operate more smoothly then it ever did in the past.
There is a set of rules also. How many of you have ever taken the time to read them? It would only take you about 10 or 15 minutes to do. They're located down at the bottom of the page. Just click on
Community Rules
When you're sitting here on the forum sometime waiting for a new post, take a few minutes and go thru them. I'm sure you will not only be enlightened, you might even come away with a better appreciation of why and how this forum runs so smoothly.
We do our best to let things flow, but occasionally we have to step in and point things in the right direction. Be thankful that we have this forum, and be thankful for having moderators also. Believe me, it would a terrible, terrible mess without them.
