I'm still trying to find a solution for my leaking radiator hose in my Thor Tellaro. I have called Thor customer Service many times and emailed the representative with no response. I sent a certified letter to the president of Thor Motor Coach and he didn't even acknowledge receiving it although it was signed for. I called two different General RV Dealers and neither of them would work on it. Has any PA residents delt with the lemon law attorneys in Pittsburg. I realize that RV's are not covered under the lemon law in Pennsylvania but they have been quite successful in law suits brought against RV manufacturers under warranty cases. If anyone has obtained the necessary radiator hose please let me know where you got it. Since Thor modified the engine by adding the new alternator, Dodge Ram will accept no responsibility for the faulty radiator hose. It doesn't sound like it should be a big deal but apparently Thor can't handle it.

It's a very well known and documented issue. You'll get those here soon that dealt with it with a plethora of options. Meanwhile, I'd include the dealer, salesgoober, F&I and anyone else that breathes there in any legal action you may take as they are well aware its an unresolved issue and they should have mentioned it prior to selling it.

I would order new hose and install as per the pdf I included. My Ram dealer will do anything I want-
secret is to have a great dealer that is a 'business link' dealer, like I do here in VT.

Print out that pdf and hand off to your tech.

I am willing to pay a good mechanic and don't believe in warranties. I do, however, rely on the 36k 3yr Ram warranty, but so far the Promaster has been great. The RV warranty is toilet paper.

RV dealers have no idea about the UHG and problem with belt and hose proximity to each other.

My Tellaro had a leak, so I just added a clamp upstream at the top of the hose by the radiator, and no more issues.
I had my tech inspect the UHG and found it to be ok- it IS very tight down there with hose and belt arrangement.
I would suggest carrying an spare belt too...

Did you purchase your radiator hose from C. W. Mill Equipment Company who published the pdf that you referenced? You also said that you used a clamp upstream ay the top of the hose. Which one did you use or did you use the clamp and then replace it with the Mill's set up? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

I have not had to order the hose, but am getting a spare belt from Amazon, using the Gates replacement number on the pdf. I would not hesitate to order direct from the company.

The clamp was just a std. auto hose clamp at the top of the hose from the UHG area. I had a pic somewhere, but lost track of it. It was seeping out right at the connection to the radiator at the top- so I just added a 2nd clamp and it stopped dripping.

Thank you very much for your help. This is the first I've thought that I have a chance since I bought my Tellaro. When it warms up I will put on the hose clamp and I'll order the belt now.

The PDF shows part #46(belt) listed 4 times. Which is the correct part number?

Each one is correct- and each one has a part number. 4 choices. Just pick one and go with it.
I ordered a Gates K060535 as a spare for my repair kit .

Replacement Serpentine Belt

I also purchase a Gates K060535 belt from Amazon. I don't know if it was the best price but it was reasonably priced and readily available. I think that things may be beginning to look up regarding a solution for the radiator hose problem. I believe that Thor made a major public relations problem out of something that should have been easily solved. If they had only answered phone calls, emails and letters sent to them they probably could have got through this with little harm. Ram dealers could have built a lot of good will by helping out RV owners with a problem.

I sent TMC a long list of fixes I have done, that should have been caught by QC- any reply? Nope! I'll never bother them again.

Meanwhile my Ram dealer has been stellar in general maintenance and guess what else? They can fix electrical issues in the RV! (tho I do my own) They are a business link dealer and my tech is a certified electrician for auto.

QC is by the wayside, just like Boeing... :)

Up Thor's nose with a rubber hose!

Im sorry but I'm not familiar with the term "Buisness Link Dealer." What does thismean?
My understanding is that they pay a little more attention and somehow connected to Thor Motor coach for warranty repairs. I can't prove that since I do my own fixes anyway... so ask your Ram dealer what it really means-

My experience is that they do not say 'no' when I ask them to do an unrelated task on the coach. One tech inspected my UHG when I first got the RV. Most would not touch it. In fact the local RV dealer won't even help with it.

Whether true or not, my dealer is the best dealer on the stretch of dealers on Shelburne Rd. in VT.

Thanks for the reply Mark & Cyndy. I finally have some good news. A week or so ago I called several RV dealers to try to find someone to work on the radiator hose on my Thor Tellaro, including two General RV Dealers. I was told by both General RV Dealers that they dont work on Chassis. I purchased my RV from Elizabethtown, PA General RV Center. Earlier this week I got a phone call from Jim Evans, a service advisor at General RV Center, 1335 Wilmington Pike, West Chester, PA. He told me that he was looking over his notes and saw that I have been trying to solve my leaking radiator hose problem for 6 months now and wanted to do something to help me. He made an appointment for me today and in about two hours the radiator hose had been fixed and tested. If you live anywhere within driving distance of the West Chester Dealer, even if you have to drive right by the Elizabethtown General Dealer, I would recommend going to this dealer. The support staff is friendly and cooperative and the service department is friendly, very resouceful and competent. It is a real pleasure to have a decent dealer and one who cares. Jim Evans, the Service Advisor, is a real gentleman and a pleasure to work with.
