Let’s Add Something Good

No issues with our MH, 77,000 miles, been to 43 of 50 states, 40+ National Parks, 100+ state and county parks, and never had a bad day !

While things have broke and other items need special care owning a MH is a walk in the park compared to boating and loads cheaper.

I have own 4 boats and agree with your statement. But in 2017 we bought a brand new Yamaha 242 Limited and short a chrome cover flying off a rear cupholder we have ZERO issues. Just change oil and filters. Same OEM Interstate FLA Batteries, that I have NEVER even bother to remove the caps to check for water.

But with that said, my RV has not been too bad. The biggest issue has been the poor design of hood brackets that came loose, and wiring connection issue & motor we had with Kwikie Steps. I do spend more time on the RV keeping up over my current boat 4 to 1.

Amen!

I’ve read posts on this forum for 4 years. Most are griping about all the problems they’ve had. Let me say this, first and foremost, if you have no abilities to fix stuff, don’t buy a motorhome. Or any RV for that matter. There is no uniformity in construction that your car has. My 2019 Freedom Traveler A27, although not perfect, has worked marvelously for what we bought it to do. We’re about to deadhead home from Colorado. Over 3 months and 8000 miles so far, our little coach has performed very well. A minor leveler issue in Grand Canyon was fixed with a call to Lippert. The screw and bracket found in the bathroom floor have yet to be figured out. All systems are functioning as they should. We’ve been able to see so many “Oh wow!” Sights that we can’t hope to explain all the where all we’ve been. We’ve stayed in over 30 parks. Dodged tornados. Been hammered with hail. All is good. Yes, early on after purchase we had a water leak. Thor sent a service tech to our location 4 times, at their expense, and finally got it fixed. We put a 2nd AC unit on it. Swapped the sofa for recliners. Added a few other mods. But when it’s all said and done, it’s been great. I understand that it’s a crap shot as to what type of product someone bought. The couple of issues we had wouldn’t have shown up in a PDI. But , as Duck would say, we’ve made it our own. We’ve enjoyed our experiences in travel in this unit. And I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasurable travel experience as we’ve had over these last 90 days. So there. At least one positive post on the forum. Happy travels.

Jimbo, the first few sentences of your post should be printed on a card and handed out to every RV shopper! They echo my advice to every person who has told me they might like an RV.

Every RV owner needs to be reasonably handy and spend time fully understanding all of the systems in their RV. It makes ownership much more pleasurable!
