I am looking for a locking gas cap for a 2017 Thor Vegas 24.1. Does anyone have a part number or help with this? I have tried Auto zone, Napa Auto, and Oreillys with no help. Thanks

Im pretty sure I purchased the same locking gas cap that fits the F150 - F350 pickup trucks for my Axis at AutoZone.

You can alway purchase locally, test fit then take back to like Autozone or Walmart. Much easier than returning to Amazon.

Most of these caps and fuel fill hoses come standard already on the chassis temporarily strapped in place...they just build the camper body around them. As stated above, any cap that fits a Ford Light/Medium Duty chassis should fit.

I’ve not checked this out but on another forum there seemed to be some consensus that this works on pretty much all Ford chassis’s NAPA # BK 7031723. If you try it let us know if it works!

One question, has anyone tried to siphon gas from one of the RVs (if that is the reason for a locking gas cap)?

I can attest to the fact that, at least for this non-talented thief, there was absolutely no way I could get ANY type of hose, pipe, or other device in the gas tank.

I had some bad gas, and needed to drain the gas tank, and finally had to unhook the gas line from the generator to get the gas to drain..

I had never put much stock into anti-siphon devices, but, the gas line and tank on our VEGAS made a believer of this boy.:thumb:

I’ve not done the locking cap (mostly just too lazy I think) but I’d be as much concerned about vandals in our storage place dumping stuff in just for mischief. Small risk I suppose but you never know these days.

Many years ago my younger brother came in from NM and spent the summer with us prior to going off to the Army. He started dating a local girl that summer and borrowed my yellow 1969 Opel GT (kind of looked like a mini Corvette). One night we hear the dogs barking like mad so we go out and find two punks pouring something into the gas tank. We yell at them and threaten to "release the dogs" so they run up the road, jump in a POS truck and take off. When we get out to the car we find sugar all around the gas fill site and they stole my non-locking gas cap. Had to flush the system and buy a locking gas cap...nothing but locking gas caps since them.

I’ve heard people say a locking cap isn’t really much of a deterrent to a determined creep and suppose that’s true if the creep is specifically targeting ME for some perceived offense. But most of the time my MH is in a storage place surrounded by other machines - some nicer than mine, some not. I suppose your garden variety creep will target the easiest unit for his nefarious deed. So maybe the cap would be effective. Perhaps this thread will give me the incentive I need to push the three or four buttons to order one from amazon. Sometimes my sloth impresses eve me!

You don't have to make your rig "criminal-proof": it only has to be made more secure than the rig parked next to you! :thumb:

Our locking gas cap had messed up and I had to remove the locking part to get it on securely.
Your part number was spot-on.
Bought one at NAPA, took it home, it fits perfectly!
Thanks Pete'sMH.

I had a locking gas cap for my GMC Sierra 2500, tried it on my Thor ACE 29.1 and works just fine: local car-parts jobber, Stant #11511 - Bill K
