Next week as you login you will be prompted to use your e-mail address and password instead of your username and password. This change is being made for a number of reasons.

The biggest reason has to do with the forum being part of the RV Life family of sites.
Many of us have accounts at other RV Life sites, specifically RVParkReviews.com. In time you will be able to login to Thor Forums as well as other RV Life sites where you have accounts with the same login, simplifying things substantially.
We hope to have an enhanced mobile app available as well that will allow you to read and post on multiple RV Life sites where you have registered an account if you desire, although this is not yet fully developed.

Some other reasons:
  • Username logins were case sensitive and often had punctuation that could be miskeyed or forgotten and has been a regular cause of login trouble.
  • It's easier to remember your e-mail address then username for most folks.
  • E-mail address are not visible on the forum but usernames (half of the login combo) are and so there is a little better account security.

Your username will remain unchanged and display as usual next to your posts.

If you have trouble logging in with your e-mail address instead of username there will be some prompts on the login screen to help you and a link to update your email address if needed.

Thanks in advance for your patience with these changes - we're working hard to improve security and keep the site easy to use.

Thanks for the heads-up! :thumb:
But since all of the login screens have been filling themselves in for me: I guess that I'm going to have to try and figure out what my password is...

The login screen may still autofill for you (this is a browser function). If you carefully go to the upper field where your username is and change it to your e-mail your browser may ask you to save the new changes and your password will be remembered ;)

Just a reminder - today is the day to begin logging in with your e-mail address instead of username :)

 Yup! I gor tripped up by the autofill...

Is there any way that you can clear all of that out, and give us nice clear login screen without the presets?

That is a function of your browser, not our software. We don't autofill, your browser does. :)

Does this mean the forums software was updated? If so will there be some fancy new features available?

If I were Thor. I would hire a person, take the information off this site and build a Diagnostic Repair Flow Chart website or app.

The forum is not owned or operated by Thor and we don't share account info. It's set up for owners and the site team are Rvers ;)

In the beginning I used my email as teh user name, how can i change my user name to something besides my email?

Shoot me a PM and I can help with this - alternatively you can hit the contact link at the bottom of the page to reach the help desk to make the same request.

I understand that but they do read this forum and contact members from time to time.

I assume they read - hope they do actually. But the only way a member can be contacted is via their profile from another member. e-mails are not public - unless you used it for a username or posted it on the forum somewhere.

I would suggest doing a password reset on it from the login screen.

You can change your PW by going into the User CP. Top left hand corner of the page.
Scroll down till you see edit email and password on the left. Click on it. There you can change your password and confirm it. Then don't forget to click

save changes on the bottom.

I've tried to change my state from Arizona to New Mexico & saved it 3 times, still goes back to Arizone, please help. Thanks
