LP flow issue

We came back from a six day vacation and when we turned on the gas in our 2012 36RL, the flow was reduced. Also, we could smell gas near the LP bottles. When the repairman came, he said the regulator on the passenger side was broke, the lines to both LP bottles were partially blocked, and the switch regulator wasn't working properly. He replaced all of these and everything works fine. I've never had this problem with LP tanks and regulators before in other RVs we've owned. The warranty covered everything, but I was surprised to have the issue in the first place. The repairman just said it "happens". Anyone heard of this before? I don't want it to happen again. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I had to replace the red regulator on the door side LP tank after it started leaking. My LP detector went off one day a few weeks ago and you could smell gas outside the trailer.
As usual, I contacted Brian to inform him of the problem and to ask him why there was a regulator there in the first place. Both LP tanks feed into the white double stage regulator, the one we use to switch from an empty tank to the full one, and it's designed to regulate multiple tanks. The regulator I had to replace probably wasn't needed in the first place.
Brian didn't know why they were using the additional regulator but agreed that it probably wasn't necessary.
