We broke away from Ginny's family in Jersey and we're now sitting in Hid'n Pines campground in Saco Maine near Old Orchard Beach. We'll be here until Wednesday morning when we head to Booth Bay for the remainder of our little excursion.

It doesn't get better than Maine in July! Enjoy ... we'll go up in August after the house closes to say our "good byes" ... at least for now. It may be quite a while before we swing back to New England. Look for my photo book "Acadia Panorama" if you're in a book store.Cheers, and leave a couple of lobsters for us!

We love the scenery here in Maine but these little winding roads for the dually. All the food up here is pricy too. It's good but we haven't had a meal yet that didn't cost $30. I don't mind paying at a nice restaurant but most of these have been road side stands.

While staying at Boothbay, Take a ride to the Pemaquid peninsula just east of it. Beautiful scenery, working harbors. Have lunch on the deck at the New Harbor Co-op, visit the fort, enjoy local oysters, etc.

We live in Maine when not travelling, and enjoy it to the fullest.

We are headed to Bar Harbor Thursday. Any recommendations for that area? Thank you!
Bar Harbor Campground is one of the largest and nicest there, and centrally located. Also on the Acadia free bus line if you'd like a chauffeur. Look for my book "Acadia Panorama" while you're in town. Sherman's Book Store is an old fashioned indy store, and everybody loves it. Enjoy, and don't eat all the lobster - we'll be coming up in about a month. There's a great lobster pound in Barnard on the SW corner of the island, btw. A real working fishing village on the west side of Bass Harbor. Have a great time ... This is my favorite part of New England!

Dave, if you get a chance swing by Burlington Vt. We are working at North Beach Campground for the season then heading back to Tx. Lots to see and do around here and Lake Champlain is beautiful.

Be aware that driving or parking the duallys around there is a problem. We loved Moody's dinner on Rt1 and wish we had spent more time in Acadia park. When we were in the park we came across a guy with a 12 passenger bus full of international college kids broke down so we spent several hours into the night helping him which depleted our last day there.

It's beautiful there! On top of Cadillac mountain you can see for miles. In Bar Harbor there was a restaurant call "Lobster Pound". The 3 pound Lobster was $50 but very filling.

Take a drive over to Schoodic Point as well. Beautiful park, Winter Harbor is a nice little town. Was stationed there with the Navy in the late 70s and mid 80s. Our site was over in Corea. Love Maine, but glad not to be there in the winter :)
