Greeting Fellow Thor owners. I’m wondering if its normal procedure and practices that RV dealers, (even dealers of whom you purchased your Rv), place no priority on servicing or repairing a customer’s motor coach if it’s out of the first-year warranty period? I ask because within the first year of owning my 2023 Thor Pallazzo, customer service was TOP NOTCH! I dropped it off early to mid-September 2024 at MHRSV Alvarado, TX for the listed repairs and it is still not ready. Really!
I’d love for someone in authority at the Thor Corporation to ack as my surrogate to get an answer for me. #firstimeowner #new2thislife #trying2enjoylife

Thor Motor Coach Structural Warranty

Front left and right caps separating from left and right sides. (On going issue still covered under Structural Factory Warranty)

Water leaks/drains into Rv from behind the refrigerator water line, shower, washer, or kitchen sink.
  • Possible floor damage due to water leak.
  • Bedroom slide won’t deploy.
  • House battery is sometimes below 10 volts even after driving all day.
  • The refrigerator appears to longer be in its frame correctly preventing slide from completely deploying.
  • Leveling jacks power panel comes on and blinks with crazy light patterns when driving in the rain.
  • Firefly Control Panel intermittently goes out and reboots while hooked to shore power.
  • Rainwater gets into the front right storage bay and the second pass-through storage bay.

Our suggestions are all but always;
Hire an independent handyman or shop to fix your maladies.

Pay them.

Chasing a 'free' repair has cost you months in the shop over what might be a spot of glue applied to a stripped screw hole.

Develop a reporte with the independent because
You'll need them again so be aware of your attitude.

You signed the contract about the warranty.

You didn't buy the extended warranty.

You're now an owner of a used rv.
Consider it as used and not new.

If it offends you, pluck it out by sellng it.

Any time at a dealership longer than reasonable is partially, a big partially, your fault for not exploring alternatives.

(Consider that You may have very well worn out your welcome at the dealer.)

Roger that, I've remained pleasant throughout the entire ordeal, and I did purchase an extended warranty. I just didn't' know what else to do except get opinions of others to see if their process is and was the same.

Most are the same experience as yours except for
Dkoldman
Ducksface
Beau
And very few others who have ever posted here.

Yours is typical.
Absolutely bell curve top position.

Find a different dealer.
Tell us about what you've submitted to the extended warranty and how that's proceeding.

I never got to the dealer for warranty. I was told to compile a list and return in 90 days and they would think about getting them fixed. I joined this forum and quickly found that Camping World, my dealer, was for most folks, a piss poor repair facility. I also learned that most dealers were no better than CW. I discovered that the folks that fixed their own defects were happier than those that chased repairs thru the warranty. I also learned that having money in an RV fund was a better choice than paying thousands for an extended warranty. I chose to fix every thing I found myself and have been relatively happy with my decisions as my coach has been available for my use every day since purchase.

If you got top notch service during your one year warranty period you are one of the few that post that did. Consider yourself lucky.

If you feel like you're at the bottom of the list now, fire your dealer and hire an independent shop or mobile mechanic to fix what you need now.

Id suggest establishing a relationship with a mobile RV mechanic. They want your repeat buisness and you know every hour they work. I find them to be very good and reasonable. Ive never gone to a dealer for anything.

Also, find a truck service center for any chassis / engine service

Strangely enough, most people that own businesses expect to make a profit. Thor MC warranty labor rates are considerably below what your local RV dealer charges their customers for repairs. That said MHSRV was sold by the O'Banion Family several years ago to the Blue Compass dealer chain. From what I hear, service is not the same as it was 9 years ago.

The best way to find good RV service is "word-of-mouth". I belong to two rally or muster organizations. One of the topics covered at the rallies is: where do you go for maintenance or who is the best mobile tech in the area.

If you are a new RV owner, you have just started to experience the true cost of ownership. It gets worst the longer you own the RV. This in the last year I have replaced 6 tires, coach and starting batteries, installed Soft Start in both A/Cs, replaced the captain's chairs and the dinette cushions. Of course a couple drawer latches had to be replaced, patched a leak on the right side because the plastic shield strip had deteriorated due to the South Texas sun. Still to go is the patio awning and slide cover fabric replacement and repaint the partial pant portions for the coach, and on this trip (I been camping at Canyon Lake for a week) the bedroom Seiki TV died.
