Hello everyone!

First post here and glad to be a part of the group! We have a 40" Crossroads RV Hampton Series with 2 tip outs/slides. It's a 2013 and we bought it used in April of 2022.

There is a strong must smell in the camper that I can't remove. Originally when we bought it, the original owner must have tried to cover up the smell with moth balls because that is all I could smell the first year. Now in the second year of owning it, the must is so pungent it absorbs into everything. This summer, I tried charcoal bags and they seemed to work the first 30 days and now it's all back.

Any suggestions?

May have to try a ozone machine. But sounds like there was or is a leak somewhere.

Our RV is a 2013 we bought it in 2015. We had the same musty smell we couldn't get rid of until this year. It ended up being a leak at the top of the shore power cover. I found it when I changed from the door with the cord wound up inside to a twist-loc power receptacle. After the change we put several boxes of baking soda in the camper and the smell was gone after about a week. It only took us 9 years to find and fix it.
Good Luck!
