I just picked up my new 2014 36RL and it came with the optional awning lights. I will try to post a pic here.

I just picked up my new 36RL and am impressed with the rig so far. I am a fulltimer and was very happy that I got to take the factory tour while my rig was in production. Lots of pics taken of what is behind the walls etc. The quality of materials used was impressive.
Very few minor fixes after the PDI that were taken care of by Paul at Hitch N 'Go RV in Delhi, Ontario. I look forward to many years of living in this new coach and sharing ideas on this forum. I was a member of the Titanium RV owners forum and found it to be a very productive helpful place to share ideas and questions. I hope this forum proves to be the same.

I wish we could have gotten those awning lights (and 2nd awning) with ours. I wonder how difficult it is to add those awning lights after the fact?

Great photos and nice rig! You will love that 2nd awning if you haven't realized that already!

Not sure what the conflict was, but with the Unigaurd option on the awnings, we couldn't get the awning lights.

WOW, congrats on the new home !!!

and those lites look better than I imagined !!!
We ordered the 2nd awning and lites too....

Was wondering if the 2nd one was shorter to match the main or what... and presume there's a separate switch for each lite and each awning ?

Did you notice if they attracted any more visitors of the flying persuasion over a regular lite ?Edited by: johnboytoo

Haven't had it long enough to comment on bug magnet. There are two separate switches for the awnings (they are a lot slower to deploy and retract than my last rig different brand) There is only one light switch that works both lights. Would have been nice to have separate switches and also a dimmer switch would have been nice, they are bright especially in a dark campground with few other lights.

They are bright - nice problem to have though - really like the way the light is contained under the awning !

that would be odd if you didn't extend one awning and the lite still came on :) Happy camping !

I notice on the new order sheet (5/2/13) there is no longer a "(N/A with Unagard)" by the LED Awning Light. Hopefully you will get both, or I would think they might have told you something already.

We tried to order the King with slide in a slide, which wasn't restricted on the old order, but Rep called us right away and said it could not longer be ordered that way.

Let us know!

We were told you couldn't get a king any longer by a salesmen :)

One quick call and that lie, er, ah, "workplace disagreement" was corrected !

Would have loved the slide in slide with king, but oh well - King is mandatory !

Redwood did actually make a King with a slide in a slide, and you might see a few still on the lots as inventory units. It was a notched out king matress that fit inside the queen slide. The rep said it just wasn't a solution so they stopped producing it.

Agree - but we want the king because we have the same foam mattress in the rv we have at home, so ... :) and we measured the standard king versus ours and they are interchangeable !!!

Back to original topic. I inquired about adding the lights to our awnings and was told that you needed to replace the entire awning as it is in the head that rolls out. They can't be added to an existing awning but you can add the type that mounts on the rv and is LED.

Collindo, it looks like you pulled the trigger with Tony and Paul after we did on a 36RL after our Titanium, we got a 2013.

We didn't get the awning lights but Paul changed out all the halogen lights for LED's, more energy efficient and cooler running!

I ordered and installed the awning strip light from M4, tapped into the yellow light above the door, so it is switched.

$99.99

Your Price:
$59.99 (You save $40.00)

SKU:

SL-COLORKIT-1x16

Product Description

Our Color Changing Light Kits are Brighter than most since they use 60 chips per meter where others use 30! We also use larger 5050 SMD chips where others use smaller 3528 chips.

To be used under your RV awning, or anywhere else you want to add some color. Most choose to stick these to the side of the RV right under the drip rail of under the awning. They work off of 12v and can be cut to size every 3 LED chips.

The Kit Includes:
•1pcs 16' RGB Color Changing Water Resistant Strip Lights with 3M tape.
•1pc 10' Control Extension Cable so you can install the controller in a dry area inside the RV or a compartment.
•1pc Controller
•1pc 12v pigtail for controller with 3 feet of power cord
•1pc remote control with battery

Lights can be controlled to display one color, or cycle through colors. Speed can be increased/decreased. Controller can also be used with a standar 12v wall mount transformer (not included) to be used with household current if you choose not to use it at 12 volts. LED Strips can also be cut to length if necessary every 3 LED chips. Remote works in close proximity to control unit so you can't accidently change your neighbors lights. Mount controller in a dry area.

I ordered all my halogen lights from M4Products whose address is in my post about 3 up. I replaced all my lights inside except for the ones in the closet, and my outside lights also along with the under awning light. When all was said and done, it was several hundred but I feel well worth the money. You can go to the web site and figure what it will cost you to replace what you want.
