We just brought home a new Vegas from Collier RV in Rockford Illinois. We are from the Quad Cities so had to drive about 95 miles. We are not newbies, worked our way through 3 popups, 2 travel trailers, a 2008 Winnebago Vista (gas) and then a 42 foot diesel pusher. We needed to downsize, just too limited with that big rig as to where we could go and where we could camp. Diesel is a nice ride though. So on the maiden drive to the first campground night, the door flew open on a 2 lane highway after I failed to really close it tight after filling with gas. Do beware that it is almost a double click system. Fortunately neither of our show dog Corgis jumped out. We forgot the batteries to the pump for the air mattress. But I have another question. There is a strange hose hanging out from under the dash on the passenger side front seat. Dealer says it is an unattached heater hose, clip it a bit and secure it back up in the dash. Seems strange that a heater hose would not be attached to a grill plate. What do you think?

I am trying to copy a picture from my computer but I am a bit challenged.

Don't feel bad about failing to lock the door. On our drive out of the dealership, ours swung open at the first stop. Glad your dogs stayed put and no harm done.

Congratulations with your downsizing. Think you'll enjoy it once you get some debugging done and become accustomed to it. Just returned from a 900 mile trip to Myrtle Beach in our Axis and was trouble free.

I have one in my coach that is the same. It turns out mine is the inlet for the Ford cabin filtration system. The filter is in a box in the engine compartment. Now there are a few minor differences between our coaches so you'll have to see if this is the case for your coach and model.

On the second leg of our shakedown I had a storage compartment (a locked storage compartment) door come open when exiting an interstate. Luckily my storage compartments open forward so the wind force kept it closed while driving and then it opened when I stopped at the end of an off ramp. Turns out that "Slam Shut" storage compartment doors are really "Slam Shut and Push" doors.

So does that hose just dangle like that?

So folks, when you had the hose fixed, did they hook it up to some sort of outlet on the dash or underside? I don't think the dealer ad hoc advice of cut it off and tie it up is very good, do you?

We have the same hose on our RV but it is shorter. It is for heating. Has you can see on the pictures. You can remove the panel door over the radio by removing the 2 screws under the black liner and you will be able to see for yourself if it is plug.
