Well, we were planning to buy into the Redwood family later this year at the Hershey RV show, but that's a non-issue now.

On our way down to Florida for Spring break the end of March (the wife is a teacher, so I can legally state "Spring Break"), we decided to stop at McGeorge's RV in Ashland, VA just off of I-95 knowing they sold Redwood's. So we looked at a number of 36REs, which was the model we were going to order in September. Then they showed us a 38GK. That and the deal they gave us, we bought it right then and there. The sales manager had to call somebody back that was starting an internet sale and tell them that the 38GK that they wanted was just sold a few minutes prior. After we got back from our Florida trip, we then picked-up our new King Ranch (that I ordered back in early February), then a few weeks later we went down and did the final paperwork and brought the new rig home. This weekend will be the maiden outing, and we'll be going to a campground close to home just south of us in VA.

As we prepare for retirement (we'll be done by December), we have also started the process to have a house built down in Lake Weir, FL. The rancher will also have an RV garage attached. Turnkey should be this coming JAN/FEB timeframe.

Many congratulations !! We kind of wound up with our 36RL in a similiar fashion. I was talking to 3 different dealers on the internet and getting some really good prices and then on a whim we decided to visit the local dealer. They are known for having pretty good service but not always the best price .............. he blew the other three away and now I get to have it serviced locally without a "growl".

If you are in the Maryland area and would like to do a weekend somewhere, let me know. We live in Perry Hall, MD, just outside the Balt beltway on the north side. Planning on going to Winchester, VA on 6-21 - 6-23 for a weekend.

Just got a note from our Dealer today, that we are still on schedule for delivery the 3rd week of May for our GK. I can't wait.

I fell in love with all the storage in the GK and since we were going to be living in it full time it was the one for us.

Just a little humor:
We did an estate sale for everything we own and the house is on the market. Well, everything is SOLD and we are basically homeless until the GK arrives.

I went home after work and looked at the wall to see what time it was.....no clock, went to put some trash in the trash can.....no trash can, hubby went to get some ice cream......no spoon to eat it with. A little more thought would have made the next couple of weeks a little better. We kept the fridge, a mattress and box springs and 2 tvs. Didn't think much about eating!!!! Oh well, at least I don't have to wash dishes or cook for a couple of weeks. Guess it's not all bad.

Just think in a very short time it will all pay off and you can fully enjoy your new home. Have fun, your campers.

Just got work that my new home is ready for transport. Not sure how long it will take from Factory to Dealer, but I'm glad to stop sleeping on the floor (kinda). We have a mattress and box springs on the floor of our home that is for sale. Not sold yet, but we will be moving into the GK as soon as we get the PDI done and have it transported to Austin.

I can't say enough good things about our dealer. Everything he has said has been spot on. He said it would be finished at the factory by the 3rd week of May and here we are.

YEAH!!!!

I have been like a small child waiting on Christmas Morning and it is in sight.

Thanks, everyone. If I can figure out how, I will post pics when we get it home!

We have taken our out the last two weekends, and had a GREAT time with it. The first week we stayed close to home and went to Monroe Bay on the Potomac, and then last weekend we were up in Gettysburg.

We'll be taking it back to the dealer and dropping it off tomorrow. We're going to have the washer/dryer stack installed along with a DirecTV Slimeline SATDISH up top. Also, we'll have a warranty "punch-out" list for them.
