I am looking for a new bed for my RV. I have an east/west RV king bed that rolls up the back for travel. Amazon is my go to, any suggestions? My concern is making sure the bed will lift up properly.

Just the mattress, not the frame.

Original one is thin and not comfortable. I wasn’t sure if it was thin on purpose so it wouldn’t interfere with the bed moving up and down.

Please explain HOW the bed "rolls up". (I've never seen a roll up bed)
Does is roll, bend in middle vertically, fold completely in half, fold totally up (Murphy bed), etc.
Pics would help too.

It bends in the middle to about a 45 degree angle when the slide is in.
Ah Ha! Exactly as mine is.

I bought a 3" foam pad and a thick quilted topper. Not fantastic, but pretty good. Both from Amazon.
As far as staying up, I had to add D rings and 10" rubber bungee cords. Works well.

If that is not to your liking, Google custom mattresses. They make them with slit that bend well.

I assume there is no split in the mattress where it articulates?

But a thicker mattress may need one.

You have an RV King mattress so a standard king mattress will not work. Check out RV Mattress by Brooklyn Bedding - RV. We bought an RV king from them and liked it so much we replaced the master bedroom mattress at home with one of their regular king mattresses. Give them a call about the bend. If needed, they can custom "split" the mattress for you.

Burned that bs mattress thor put in rig and replaced with 12 inch super nice dreamy bed! Don't know how anyone could sleep in what thor puts in rig.

I replaced both my mattresses in my 20L Tellaro from this company- they can make anything- 3 styles (I used Grayson) and can hinge anyway you spec. Just send them a drawing and specs, thickness, etc, and they can make them for you. very comfy.
Mine are hinged for the adjustable Froli headrest.

We bought a Tempur-Pedic topper and are very comfortable.

If you are from Port Orange, Florida, check out Fox Mattress in Ormond Beach / Daytona Beach on South Nova Road. They are custom manufacturers that can make whatever you need, in whatever height or firmness you want. I have an east-west set-up where you have to raise the head area to bring in the slide, and I just ordered a folding mattress from them in short king size. (Delivery about a week from now). They have an excellent reputation.

We have a east west bed in our 2024 Challenger. The bed needs to slide up before we bring in the slides. It also came with a mattress that was really hard to sleep on. We replaced it with an rv mattress from brooklyn bedding. Love the new mattress. It doesn't seem to be bothered with travelling folded up. We sleep much better now.
We have had the mattress about 7 months now. Still love it...

In my older coach, I have a north-south short queen. However the fresh water tank and some other stuff is under the bed, so it can be manually folded for access. I ditched my old mattress and bought a stock standard RV short queen on Amazon from Zinus.

I will say that I was very impressed with every single part of both the transaction and the mattress, save for one. The mattress itself was much more firm than I was expecting. (It was a memory foam mattress in medium-firm.) It felt like I had just laid an extra thick yoga mat on top of a wooden picnic table and was sleeping on that. Luckily, they offered a 100 night warranty and didn't hesitate to make good on it. I returned it in exchange for a medium. Much more to my liking.

Relevant to this thread, the entire mattress weighs only 26lbs. It's also flexible enough that I can still easily access the space under the bed.
