Hello from Alaska! I will be driving our new Compass 24KB off the lot here in Alaska in just over a week. As such, please forgive my “don’t have it yet” driven dumb questions! Due to it still being well below freezing, our maiden trip won’t be until mid May! Aarg!

Upgrading from a trusty old 1996 22 foot Class C that we have used heavily over the past 14 years. We have mostly boondocked far away from civilization in our old Class C.

With the new Compass and recently retiring, we will add traveling to the lower 48 through Canada a couple times each year. Probably less boondocking in the wilderness until I can trust the new Compass.

Hello and welcome to the forum John in Alaska. We have found some good information here at the forum. It appears that your Compass 24KB is a class C ? with a very similar layout as our Vegas 24.1. We are very happy with ours, best wishes with yours. Is your refrigerator electric (120v) only? I would like to hear how that works out for you. You stated you boondock a lot, and with electric only frig, from what I have read, that could be a problem. We are departing for Alaska, again, come end of April, our favorite place to be. How's the Mt Spurr volcano doing. We hope for a good show when we are there.
Best wishes, happy trails John and "WE".

So far Spurr has behaved. Fingers crossed.

We shall see how the battery works when we do our first trip. The frig is 12v only. If needed, we could add the extra battery like others have done.

Interestingly enough, some call the Compass a Class C, but most call it a B+. That distinction isn’t terribly important to me.

Enjoy Alaska when you come!

Hi AlaskanJohn,

Congrats on the RV and retirement!! The lower 48 will be fun and much fewer frost heaves.

I wish you many wonderful adventures and look forward to your posts.
