Is that a wax or a film? I had some of that 3m on one of my other cars and liked it but it was expensive. I'd hate to see what it would cost for the front of this trailer.

Dave i was thinking the same way I'm looking at the 3M product as well for one reason it will stop the bugs from chipping the paint. The other products I found do not give this type of protection.

Hi All,

New F-350 Dually ordered Mar 13, arrived yesterday... she is a beauty. Dealer prep will be done after our Cdn long weekend and I take her home Tuesday. Our RW 38BR is supposed to arrive Tuesday am with walk thru Thursday afternoon... photos to follow once I figure out how

Great setup! You'll love the way it tows - you'll almost forget your 38br is back there except when turning. Post some pictures when youget it. Congrats!

Mike you are right they will have to remove the raised decals to put the film on but it will be worth it because to repaint the front will not be cheap and i will put the decals back on.

I think that they apply the "REDWOOD" lettering in a "mask" that applies all the letterswith the spacing and arch that we see - all at once. You might want to find out if you can buy this from them. That will certainly simplify the reinstall and assure that it looks the same after the film.

PS: When I went to wax the front, I found that some of my letters have gaps where the cement didn't adhere to the paint. I have to find out what they used & try to recement them down.

Also, anyone know of a solvent for the excess silicone sealer that won't hurt the paint? There are several spots where they were sloppy in the sealing of the joints and I'd like to clean that up..

Be careful with the paint....they ended up sending me a new keypad so I had to pull the old one off and re-stick the new one. Normally I use WD40 to remove glue. I'm not sure if it was the WD40 or if the paint was too thin there but as I was removing the old 3M tape I also removed a very small section of paint (1/8 inch) as well. Thankfully the new key-pad covered it up.

I know. My slide weatherstrips have grit stuck to them from the paint shop. I wanted to clean them during the waxing process. I've used WD40 before on auto w/strips. Fortunately, I decided to spray a rag instead of wetting down the weatherstrip. The moment the edge of the rag touched a small spot of the paint, it damaged it. Not sure why the clear is damaged so easily. Also, the WD40 did nothing for the small section of weatherstrip I tested. Need to try something else.

If you're anywhere close to a supply house for body shops, they have a product that cleans everything off of "clear cote" without damaging it. I think it's made by 3M and comes in a quart can. It's used to remove all waxes and oils before "feathering" the paint.

I used to use a product called"prepsol" to remove silicone, wax etc. just beforerepainting a panel, etc. Maybe that's it. I'll check with body shop friends, then use in an inconspicuous location.

Hi All,

Question for you from my wife. We do not get the RW 38BR until late Thursday but want to take it out on the weekend for a 2 day test drive... and we need sheets and blankets that fit a queen... wee have a king at home.
Can anyone tell me how deep the queen size pillow top mattress is so she can buy the correct sheets with fitted pocket. I understand they can come in several sizes.

Thanks in advance.
