New Member to the Redwood Family

Congratulations on that new Rig!!

I bought a 5th wheel across state in 2007 Jan 17, and had to leave it at the Dealer because our storage owner used my empty space to pile snow 14 ft high in front of the door! It took weeks for me to con him into moving it out of there so I could bring mine home!

Guess I lucked out...we bought our Redwood in Georgia and had it titled in Florida, it was seamless. The dealer did it all.

 I remember that storm, still lived in Denver at the time. Had a lot of fun in all that deep snow with my 4x4...

welcome! many happy travels - the people on here are wonderful! I joined recently and have received lots of tips....enjoy your new RW

Congratulations on your new coach. I am sure you will be very happy with. There is alot of good information on this site about your coach.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!! - Well as of yesterday our purchase of a 2014 Redwood 38RE was semi-finalized. We put our money on the table, received the manuals and bill of sale but are still a week out for delivery of our unit and probably 3 plus weeks before we get a lien free title. Yes, we bought our unit used but not used from a private party. The unit was originally purchased in Hersey, PA at the RV show and towed to the previous owners home and never moved.

This is our first excursion into the "Big Rig" venue and we are looking forward to begin the shake down trips with this unit. We are going to be keeping it fairly local to campgrounds relatively close to our home base. We will not be ready for a long trip until we get the niggles figured out.

Although we are ready to get going we are finding that the original dealer did not provide all of the manuals that are needed for the basic "rookie style" operation of the coach. A lot to be learned but I have high hopes we will get there.

We have worked with the original owners for over four months toward this purchase. Many, many issues to work out with the purchase of a coach that has been registered and with a bank lien on it so it took every bit of the four months to get all of the issues worked through. (and everyone is happy and still remained friends at the end of the process) And finally here we are.......

What are you pulling it with?

Looks like a dually dodge mega ram or whatever you call them with the bigger cab, at least in the picture.

Wholesale warranty vs good Sam

Contemplating ext warranty... Good Sam or wholesale warranties and why?

Contemplating ext warranty... Good Sam or wholesale warranties and why?

This one will open a can of worms!!!

Many are against extended warranties while other like the warm fuzzies of knowing many of the big ticket stuff will be covered.

I fall into the group who lie the extended warranty... I did the comparisons and ended up going with Wholesale Warranties. It's been a while and I don't have all my fact-finding stuff at hand but WW was the best choice for me, cant't say how it will work for anyone else but I'm happy with WW and their service. I have not filed a claim with them, still have a few months on my Redwood warranty so all issues so far have been covered by Redwood/Crossroads.

I have several friends that have bought extended warranties from Wholesale Warranties and they are have been very happy with their coverage and service.

The extended warranties are much more cost effective for Fulltimers

In my opinion, the extended warranty beats the 3-5 on the RW. That is why we will not do the annual inspection. Plus, I know of no one dealer that even knows what the annual is all about.
