It has been a long time coming in the decision to buy a Redwood and we couldn't be happier. We bought a 2014 38RE. Picked it up on the 29th of September. We are going to take it out for a week long trip very soon and looking forward to it.
I want to add that this forum is very helpful.
Thanks,
Jack & Deb

Jack & Deb,

Congratulations on your new Redwood and welcome to the Redwood family. We hope your maiden voyage is delightful and without incident!!

Welcome to the Redwood family and congratulation's on our new rig, now go enjoy !!!

Thank you for all the replies. Deb and I are looking forward to our new adventures!

Have a great time on your voyage! We got our RE in Nov 2014 and are in love with it. Some minor issues, but what a wonderful home! Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the Redwood Family and the forum. You've been reading the forum so you hopefully know that these Rvs are not perfect. Knowing that going in helped us in our expectations. Enjoy!

Thanks. We traded our 2012 Montana our new acquisition. We have found a couple of minor issues that we can fix ourselves.
I now have to figure out how to winterize the dishwasher and the icemaker in the freezer that we will have to do in the next month or two. Just haven't had the time yet to read the manuals!

Dishwasher is a piece of cake. pressurize your system with antifreeze and run the "Rinse" cycle.

Do you have the Norcold or residential fridge?

Also a piece of cake then.

Open the outside fridge panel and remove the supply line to the ice machine valve (hose bib size fitting). Have somebody hold it away from the rig and you can shoot antifreeze through it (valve for it is under the sink).

unscrew and drain the icemaker line on the bottom of the valve to drain it, then reconnect everything back up. (be careful with the small white coiled wire wrapped around that line, as it is a heat trace for the fridge valve and line).

You can remove that supply line and flush when de-winterizing if you like to avoid some of that pink ice, but your first batch or two may still be pink.

If you prefer to blow out your lines in lieu of antifreeze, you can do that line as well, but I'm just not sure how you would do the dishwasher with air.

Welcome to the family..... and congrats on your purchase. We know you are going to love it here! :)
