New owners and first trip success

Hello! Greetings from the Land of 10,000 Lakes! We recently purchased a 2016 ST270BH and took it out for a two night stay over Memorial Weekend with 3 teen girls! (Gulp!) Had a great first experience and so far everything is great. Learned a lot of what to do and not to do. Experienced heavy heavy rain for about 18 hours...no leaks! Woo Hoo! Had to hook up and depart in pouring rain...all went well except we didn't properly take care of rain on outside and top of slide before pulling it in. Made the newb mistake of thinking the squeegees would take care of it. Lesson learned for next time!
We are excited to be part of this forum and have already learned a lot from others on here! We can't wait to get out there again! (But maybe without so many teenagers!) Thanks!

I have the same trailer, the 2014 version; love it! Have a great camping season.

We are slightly northwest of the metro. About 25 mins from Minneapolis. There is never a shortage of places to camp in MN. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Keeps raining you will have to hire someone to ride shotgun for you.
Just to protect you from the MN. mosquitoes. They're probably getting big enough over there by now, that they could carry you home with them.

Great areas up there to camp. I'm jealous..well..at least from June to October..I've been on the iron range in January. We Ohioans don't know that kind of cold.

To remove much of the water from the top of the slide, it helps to raise the front of the trailer so that the water will run off before retraction. Another great thing to have on hand is a good squeegee to pull the water off the top and exposed sides of the slide. Of course, if its during a down pour.. not much you can do other than to wait for a lull.
