Howdy,

Well we pulled the trigger on a Sunset Trail st20ck. We've never owned an RV before and am a little nervous about all the workings (white water, gray water, black water, gas/electric systems). But I'm confident with help from the dealer and this forum we should be able to manage.

We went to the RV show in Minneapolis looking for something small (<20')but after my wife saw the size of bathroom and how well the kitchen was setup, there was no turning back. The price was actually much less than some of the smaller units such as rpod, mpg etc.

Our tow vehicle is not a monster (v6 silverado) but was assured it would have no problem with this unit. We live in minnesota. Not a lot of long grades here.

Congrats on the new ST. Not too many people pulling with a V6 so will be interested to hear how it does. Welcome to the forum.

Congrats and welcome to the Forum and CrossRoads family. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of folks here who are willing to share their knowledge, experiences, etc.

The dealer is offering extended warranty five years for $1500 with it being refunded if not used after 5 years. Also, fabric protection and paint sealant.

These things worthwhile or save my money?

I would find out what all the 5 yr. warranty covers before I plunked down $1500. If it actually covers everything and they give it back if you don't use it, I guess I would take it myself.

I'm on my third trailer in eight years of RVing, so not sure I'd keep one for five years. With my track record of change that's why I don't tie up my money by buying extended warranties. I know most of them are transferrable but it still ties up money. Goes for my automotive purchases as well. So far, so good. Hope I didn't just jinx myself! Also, just remembered on my last trailer puchase the dealer was so desperate to sell me an extended warranty that he came down to $750. They obviously have room in those contracts. Still didn't bite.
