New to Crossroads, not to camping

Wife and I just bought a used 2005 Cruiser that I think will fare us well in the coming years. Eight years old but it is in immaculate shape and has been well cared for. We're really looking forward to hitting the road soon.

One thing I wish Crossroads, and other manufacturers for that matter, to consider, is posting information on all thier models from the day of conception. Owners' manuals, although they probably just cover the basics, seem to be non-existent for those that purchase second hand. I think however, I found out that Lippert produces much of what goes into building the trailer (does it not?) and I did manage to stumble across a website PACKED with information on everything to slides, to auxilliary jacks and the maintenance required.

Welcome to the forum. We had a 2005 CF29RK that we really enjoyed. It gave us good service. The only reason we don't have it now is we wanted a little larger unit. I still have some of the information on that unit so if you have a question on something send me a pm.

Don't sweat the owners manual as the information in it wasn't that impressive. Just the typical stuff about checking your caulking and washing, blah blah.

I most likely can get owner's manuals on all the equipment, such as water heater, refrigerator, etc., since (I'm pretty sure) Crossroads doesn't make this stuff, but mainly curious if there was anything that was supposed to come with the camper? Things to make sure I have, should I need it, like a hand crank for the slide outs, or where might an override be if the front supports don't function because of power loss. Thinking ahead. Wouldn't want to be out somewhere and not be able to retrack the slides for example.

First, welcome aboard the forum. The hand crank is something you MAY need (I have never used mine - knock on wood). The access hole for it is through a 1" hole in the opposite side of the rig for the slide in question. The landing gear access is a hole at the front left of the rig. Mine is in the battery compartment. Be careful as the pins are weak and can break off. As mentioned, the owners manual was VERY generic and filled with basic common sense so it really wasn't very useful. Best of luck with the rig.

For manuals, start with emailing Crossroads customer service. They may be able to point you to a download site for older CR RVs. The other is to Google "owners manual [model] [year]" and you'd be surprised what is available.

Thanks for the brochure but I think it was for a different year, although most of the information is generic anyway. Only one fifth wheel floor plan had a slide out kitchen, but also had a slideout bedroom. Our trailer doesn't have the bed slideout. Still, thanks for the file.

Appreciate the info and I have called Crossroads. Got some service tech that said he'd mail me a generic service manual. I couldn't find anything on the Web, but I did find Lippert's site and there is a TON of information there. Once I have the trailer in hand, I'm sure I can find service manuals for the various pieces of the equipment on the trailer. I just hope I remember everything the previous owner tells me about how to operate everything.

And where are the switches are.

Just a shout out to someone from my beloved San Marcos. </span>I (Jean) lived there for a few of years while
the ex was in college and where our oldest daughter was born. </span>It was a very quaint little town back in the ‘70s
but has changed tremendously over the years with the addition of the outlets,
etc. </span>We were in the Hill Country from
late Dec.-mid Jan. </span>This is the second
trip there with Larry and both have been rather chilly. </span>I keep telling him that it is not usually
like that. </span>But we are coming back again
with our new Zinger and are very excited.

I want to thank everyone for thier time and the responses. I received the Owner's manual in the mail yesterday from Crossroads, and although it made interesting reading, it was generic like you all said, not specific to my model. But I did go so far as to find model numbers and manufacturer's names on all the appliances and third party add-on's (except for one) and have downloaded and printed out manuals for those. And after a little exploring, figured out what that little half inch pipe protruding down from the underbelly was for...fresh water drain. Looking forward to next year's rally. See you all there. Bob
