Random Camper

Hello Everyone
Purchased a new 2017 Sunset Trails 270bh after an extensive search that began in the fall of 2016. Traded in our Jayco X17Z at the Calgary RV show in Feb after 4 years of ownership and freezing our butts off in the tent ends in the mountains of Alberta. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Delivery set for June 1st and really looking forward to camping this season in a much bigger unit. We use the camper as base camp for fly fishing in the mountains of Alberta, BC and a trip to Manitoba every fall to Stillwater fly fish.
We found this model seemed to check all the boxes with all the features we were looking for and some we didn't know we wanted, and seemed to be good quality but time will tell. I am a bit concerned about what I've read regarding the front caps fading but it seems they all have some issues. We narrowed it down to 2 models, a 28 foot Connect and the 270 we ultimately bought. Did not like the changes on the replacement model 2017 264bh.
We bought a 100 watt solar panel to keep the battery charged and will pick up a 3,500 inverter generator in a weeks time as we random camp 95% of the time and like the creature comforts.
Towing with a 2016 F150 4x4 crew Eco 3.5l platinum which should be ok for the weight of the unit.
I found the forum helpful as a lurker and look forward to the support from other owners and sharing information.
Cheers
Brian
